We heard at the deadline he was looking for $20 million a year, which is not what I’d have done, but the Raps gave a lot of draft compensation to the Spurs so it wasn’t surprising today.

I don't know why he took a step back in minutes this season, but he finished the previous season pretty well:

https://8points9seconds.com/2022/04/29/indiana-pacers-grading-oshae-brissett-2022/

In the 24 games after the February 10th deadline, Brissett averaged 14.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and shot 42/36/73 in 30.9 minutes per game.

Expectation is two-year deal for Oshae Brissett with the Celtics is for veteran's minimum with an option for the second season from what I'm hearing.

2 years is a bit weird if they are trying to stay under the second apron (and want to use the MLE), but with only 4 years of service I guess it doesn't make a huge difference.

I assume that's a team option, not player

Player option

That's really weird then, I'm surprised he had the leverage for that

I wonder if it’s a mutual option of sorts, with year 2 not being fully guarantee if he picks up the player option.

So, why haven't we heard news about a Jaylen Brown supermax yet?

We can’t officially offer it to him until tomorrow.

Schroder 2yrs $26mil with Raptors.

They are going to regret that deal.

Man, what a downgrade in teams of team play and leadership from Vanvleet to Schroder.

Their halfcourt offense is going to be butt ugly next year. A dodgy shooting PG. A bad shooting forward in S Barnes. A non shooting big in Poeltl. A sketchy shooter in Siakam. An underperforming shooter in Anunoby due to an oversized role offensively forcing him into lower percentage shots.

Opposing defenses are going to have a field day with these guys.

Still no signing or replacement for Gary Trent Jr either. He was their best shooter.

GTJ opted in, he's still on the team. They also drafted Gradey Dick, one of the better shooters in the draft.

Ah thanks. I missed Trent opting in.

Restricted free agents almost always sign last.  Expect the Lakers to work out something with Russell first.

What are the Nets doing? Does anyone know?

Trading Harris for peanuts to create an exception seems odd, unless they have a deal in place?

They had to cut salary in order to afford that contract extension for Cam Johnson while still avoiding the luxury tax.

I forget what Cam got. Was it $90mil 4yrs? (edit 4yrs $108mil)

There was talk that DFS or O'Neale may have been available in a cap dump prior to J Harris. I don't know if they need to cut anymore salary or not.

There’s going to be a good deal of FAs that end up signing for lower MLE/vet min type contracts.
