Herb Jones 4yrs $54mil to stay with Pelicans.

What is that? $15mil less $1.5mil. $13.5mil per year. Good price for NOP. Better value than what a lot of other teams are getting for worse role players.
Max Strus getting more money than Herb is impossible for me to comprehend!

Herb Jones has a bad agent. Never should have signed that deal.

How do the lakers have all this money to spend??

Just wait until they give Reaves 100M+ too. Insane

They got Gabe Vincent and Taurean so far right?

Yeah, they only used their MLE and the bi-annual exception. They haven't spent much.

They also resigned Hachimura and signed Cam Reddish to a minimum. It's worth noting that it's very possible that Reaves and Russell might be gone.

Josh Richardson also drew interest from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics, league sources told @hoopshype. The Miami Heat’s Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra called to recruit Richardson to Miami.

Herb Jones was under a non-guaranteed contract for next year at just 1.8 million, after which he still would have been a RFA. By NOP making him a free agent this year instead he gets to sign this new contract a year earlier than he otherwise would have essentially giving him a massive pay bump this year in exchange for a lower salary in years 2-4. You can almost think of this as a three year 52 million dollar extension.

Frustrating!  He would have filled a big need.

But, as a player, I'd lean toward Spo over Joe as well.

How much did they pay Hachimura?

$17mil a year for a bench PF. Lotta money.

Same money Harrison Barnes got to be a starter.

Is Gabe Vincent any better than Lonnie Walker IV?

I'm not sure he is.

With Lonnie Walker's improved outside shot, that comparison looks pretty neutral to me.

Frustrating that we lost out on JRich when interested. Though I bet we were offering just the minimum, too, with Minny offering more.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

It's even more wild when Gabe Vincent is getting 33 million over 3 years. The gap between these two is nowhere near that huge.
