Anthony Edwards, who has used these past three weeks to show off his potential as a leading man, was brilliant offensively and defensively. He fired in 34 points on 11-of-20 shooting and was part of the swarming defensive effort late that won the game.

"He's unquestionably the guy," Team USA coach Steve Kerr said of Edwards. "You can see he knows it. But now the team knows it, and I think the fans see it. ... He genuinely believes he's the best player in the gym every single night. And he's such a dynamic young player. I think he's taking a leap."

More and more noise about this guy taking a huge leap next season. Maybe a top 10 player in the league. Maybe an MVP.

Looks like he is starting this off with Team USA.

The Celtics still have a ‘28 pick.  It’s unclear whether it will be ours or the Spurs because of the swap (although I’d still bet on it being the C’s), but one exists and can be traded.

So the Celtics trade Brogdon and RWill plus 4 picks?  For Towns?  I think that is too much.  We almost had Porzingis for just Brogdon.  So for Towns, we give up Brogdon + RWill + 4 Picks?  I get that Towns would have more value than Porzingis, but not that much more.

A Towns trade would have made much more sense before the Porzingis trade.  Don't see a need for both.  Kind of a diminishing return kind of thing.  I suspect that MIN is going to give this core a shot, I would.  I don't think it will bother Towns if Edwards becomes "the guy".  And I don't see the "fit" issue.  Towns and Edwards can play together just as easily as Tatum and Porzingis.

Magic would still dominate if he played today. An MVP candidate today just like he was back then.

Steph could not dominate if he played in the 80s. He'd be a Mark Price. A very good player. A perennial All-Star. But he'd get beaten up a lot and struggle to maintain performance levels against tougher defenses.

Yeah, Curry's obviously a better shooter, but I think Magic did everything else better.

Magic would still dominate if he played today. An MVP candidate today just like he was back then.

Steph could not dominate if he played in the 80s. He'd be a Mark Price. A very good player. A perennial All-Star. But he'd get beaten up a lot and struggle to maintain performance levels against tougher defenses.

It’s really impossible to compare the two.  Would Steph’s teams still allow him to take a huge volume of 3-pointers, many from well beyond the line?  Would he be even more wide open with the illegal defense rules that existed back then compared to now?  You bring up Mark Price, but Steph makes more threes per game than Price was even allowed to attempt.

The game is so different now relative to then, and Steph is a major reason why.

Yeah sometimes I wonder if curry gets underrated in all time rankings. The move by Durant didn’t just screw Durant in all time conversations, it screwed curry (and to a lesser amount the other guys). The warriors probably still win at least one title without Durant and then curry would have been the best player on three teams. As it stand he has the same amount of titles as Lebron in less seasons and they have both played with tons of top other players (Thompson, green, Durant for curry, bosh, irving, Wade, love and Davis for Lebron).

That 2015-2016 season by Curry is up there for one of the best ever. 30 points per game on 50/45/90 efficiency. 45.4% (!!) on 11.2 (!!!!!!) attempts per game from three which is simply outrageous. I guess maybe not for him because he almost did that a couple other times, but wow. 5 rebounds a game, 7 assists, 2 steals. For those who care about the sort of thing, 8th best WS/48 of all time. 73-9 team. Lost to the Cavaliers and Lebron in 7 games because of Draymond's hot head.

Shooting all those threes successfully while only half of them were assisted which is incredible. Imagine that -- all those threes at a high rate when you aren't even spoonfed them. You have to go off the dribble, make a guy miss, and then pull up. Hit 40% of them when a defender was within 2-4 feet.

Not an argument against Magic or that Curry is better, just going down memory lane. What a unique, incredible player. To call him Mark Price feels off the mark.
