REPORT: “Amid interest to return to Chicago and other contenders, Patrick Beverley has another potential suitor in Boston.”

He's not my first choice -- I'm still irritated by his time as a Laker -- but if he wants to play fourth string PG I wouldn't be opposed.

We have too many PGs already. Need to get rid of someone.

4 PGs = D White, Brogdon, Pritchard, JD Davison.

Do we really need a 5th PG on top of them? Why?

We are just going to end up with depth problems elsewhere.

It’s worth noting here that several teams are keeping an eye on the situation in Milwaukee concerning the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo, as we’ve previously noted. Antetkounmpo is eligible for an extension with Milwaukee this summer. Financially, it makes sense for Antetokounmpo to wait on signing an extension or new contract. I don’t know if the Knicks are one of those teams keeping an eye on the Antetokounmpo situation, but I’d imagine most teams are monitoring it. – via Ian Begley @ SportsNet New York

No chance he gets traded anytime soon, but does it make sense to save our assets just in case he becomes available in 2025?

Would Brown+all the first do it? Or would Brad consider dealing Tatum for someone that we know can get a team over the hump?

I don't see Milwaukee trading him but we'd have to consider it if they did

I don't think it will happen, but if Lopez and Middleton both left, they would have to consider a full tear-down and rebuild, right?

I would do Brown, Rob Williams, and all firsts for Giannis. KP can do what Lopez does in a similar way stretching the floor and defending the rim. That would be a huge frontcourt with Tatum. Just need some defensive guards and cheap shooting. Brogdon, White, Pritchard, etc. have that.

I'd trade Jrue and other contracts for max cap space. Then reload around Giannis. I wouldn't trade Giannis. I would try to rebuild around him.

Bev isn't really a point guard. He's an off-guard. I'm meh on him. I could see the upside of his edge and competitiveness, but who is he playing over in the playoffs?

So, ideally, Milwaukee loses Lopez, Miami loses Vincent / Strus, Philly gets a poor return for Harden, and New York and Cleveland don't add anybody that makes a real impact.

How realistic is all of that?

I think most of that is realistic to likely.

Milwaukee will be interesting. I don’t think they’ll be able to keep both Middleton and Lopez. I can see someone like Indy offering Middleton a huge contract that Milwaukee finds unpalatable, too.

And it seems like Miami is putting all their eggs in the Dame basket. I’m hoping Portland can pull something off to convince him to stay, leaving Miami far behind.

Why do people expect MIL to lose B Lopez?

He is 35yo. How much money do folks expect him to get offered in FA?

I see the Lakers linked to him with their MLE. Why can't MIL pay him?

I think you’re only doing this move if trading PP and not comfortable with JD as the third guard yet.

Not his biggest fan, but I do like the fire he plays with, which may be a warm welcome after Smart leaving. If we could use PP to get a another big/wing, I’d be good with having him as the third/fourth guard behind JB, White, and Brogdon.

Miami can replace Strus and G Vincent with minimum contract players. That is all those guys are.

I’ve seen people suggest he’s getting mid-teens and potentially higher.

There’s also been rumors that he’s looking more for financial security than a winning environment, given he’s already got a ring and this will be his last shot at a decent contract.

If he's cheap enough, I'm all for it. He is an Alpha and could fill the Smart role on defense.

I read somewhere that he was the difference in Chicago's late season surge.

He did play well for them late in the season.

Agreed. I would only do that if we're hellbent on staying under the second apron and it was for the minimum, though, since it would open up a couple million for the MLE (or Grant)
I'm bitter.

The Clippers re-engaged the Celtics about acquiring Malcolm Brogdon in recent days, according to @JakeLFischer.

Odd behavior from a team that nixed the initial Porzingis trade due to a “poor medical evaluation” of Brogdon.

Are the Clippers drunk?

There’s a possibility of Brogdon getting involved in a Harden to LAC move. I could see Philly being interested in him, though unclear what we’d be getting.

I thought they would reengage us. It depends on their other roster moves. I kinda' figured they'd just resign Westbrook to get another guard in place.

Is this part of a bigger deal they are working (George)? Or is this about them shedding some salary while getting a solid player in return in a 2 or 3 for 1 (Powell, Morris, Batum, Covington)?

LAC was interested in Brogdon until the moment they tampered with Harden and then broke off the deal lol

Can we get Terrace Mann, Covington, and Hyland for Brogdon and Pritchard?
