The PG market is quite weak this year, at least for the TMLE.  Why do so many fans want us to trade a very good player in Brogdon?

Recency bias.

I get Brad trying to deal him for Porzingis, but we shouldn't move him just for the sake of moving him.

Maybe. We also have reports that you can get Morris or Powell for a 2nd or two. Eric Gordon is likely going to get a TPMLE and he is a very similar player to Brogdon.

There's options out there to replace him. I even think Pritchard has some upside to replace most of what he does.

Zubac on the the block.

Brogdon for Zubac, Hyland, Covington

Fills out the bench nicely and also makes Rob available to trade.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

My issue is that he makes $22.5 million.  People are concerned with Grant making much more than half that, but the two are on the court about the same amount, and it would be better if we had two players making $12 million each than Brogdon and a minimum-salary guy.  He’s overpaid in the new CBA for the role we have for him, unless ownership is willing to crash through the second apron (and even then, he still might be the best salary we can trade going forward).

To me, the most logical Harden trade would be:

Harden to Clippers
Dame to Blazers
Maxey, expiring contracts and picks (from Phila and Clips) to Blazers

Doubt Morey would accept anything less than someone as good as Lillard, and can't imagine Portland would agree just to picks and filler to trade him. Maxey would be a good get.

Embiid and Lillard would be formidable. And frankly wouldn't miss Maxey that much.

They have an article on liberty ballers about how harden basically has personal beef with Morey now because they went radio silent on him about a new deal. Seems like a pretty ugly situation they wouldn’t want hanging over a year of embids prime especially not knowing how long they prime will last or if Embid will request a trade soon. Powell, Covington and Zubac would seem to be a very good deal for them.

I think some really undervalue players in free agency. Some title contender/playoff team is going to offer Eric Gordon part of - if not all of - the nontaxpayer MLE.

Grizzlies, Nuggets, Raptors all have a need for shooting and have that option at their disposal.

Then, there are teams with salary cap who will offer short, bloated deals to utilize their cap space.

Apparently the Rockets are expected to sign VanVleet ... for 2 years, $83.6M. More than $40M a year for him?! Ridiculous.

Not really if it is just for 2 years.

I just don't think he's worth $40M a year, even if it's for only one year.

If Clips want Brogdon, I want someone great back in return. That's for them nixing the initial deal.

Also, hearing Giannis declined an extension? He might be on the move some day. Celtics should definitely offer up the farm and a core piece for him.

If Brad is going to float Brogdan again he better get the deal done this time. And he just can't give him away. He has too much value.
