If Clips want Brogdon, I want someone great back in return. That's for them nixing the initial deal.

Also, hearing Giannis declined an extension? He might be on the move some day. Celtics should definitely offer up the farm and a core piece for him.

Brad probably laughed in their face. They killed his trade value leaked that he's damaged goods to the media

And made us trade smart instead. Now they are like "my bad, we didn't mean that!"

Hope brad hung up the phone

Brogdon for KP okay...but there's no one else worth it right now.

WOJ: Joe Harris traded to the Pistons

Do folks thinnk Joe Harris is better than Sam Hauser?

I prefer Hauser myself. Quicker feet. More mobile, active and effective defensively than J Harris.

Harris never recovered from injuries not convinced he is in league next year

The Clippers re-engaged the Celtics about acquiring Malcolm Brogdon in recent days, according to @JakeLFischer.

Odd behavior from a team that nixed the initial Porzingis trade due to a “poor medical evaluation” of Brogdon.

Are the Clippers drunk?

There’s a possibility of Brogdon getting involved in a Harden to LAC move. I could see Philly being interested in him, though unclear what we’d be getting.

I thought they would reengage us. It depends on their other roster moves. I kinda' figured they'd just resign Westbrook to get another guard in place.

Is this part of a bigger deal they are working (George)? Or is this about them shedding some salary while getting a solid player in return in a 2 or 3 for 1 (Powell, Morris, Batum, Covington)?

Can we get Terrace Mann, Covington, and Hyland for Brogdon and Pritchard?

Do you want Hyland?

Denver discarded him. Called his own number too much. Same issue in LAC. He was going shot for shot with Westbrook during the regular season.

Actually, now that I look up the numbers, Bones Hyland was taking 10 shots in just 19 minutes. On a per minute basis, he was shooting as often as Kawhi and PG13. Westbrook actually had more restraint. Took about 20% fewer shots per minute.

Same issue in the playoffs. 9 shots in 16mpg. Leading the team alongside Westbrook and two games of Kawhi in shots per minute.

B Hyland is not even that efficient of a scorer. Only 54.6% TS% for his career. Nor is he much of a defender. Probably a bit below average. Kinda small (bulk wise) and doesn't work that hard on D. Definitely not a passing PG. Shot taker / shot stealer.

Apparently the Rockets are expected to sign VanVleet ... for 2 years, $83.6M. More than $40M a year for him?! Ridiculous.

I was thinking $20-25mil for VanVleet. Paying a bit extra at the $25mil end in the hope he can get his shooting & scoring efficiency back to where it was a year and a half ago. Risky but good payoff if he can do it.

Probably only worth $16-18mil based on his performance last season.

So I was thinking $100mil over 4 years entering the offseason could be a target number for him. I didn't see anyone giving him $30mil per. Possible buy very unlikely. Houston went way over that marker to get him $40mil per season. That said, they had to overpay him severely to get him to agree to a 2 year deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if VanVleet is only an MLE guy after this two years if his shot doesn't recover. He is a small guard. Probably age badly / prematurely. If he doesn't have that shot to fall back on, his market value could plummet. I wouldn't be surprised if he got 2 years $20-25mil total (so $10.0-12.5mil per annum) and still ends up with around $100mil over 4 years.

The PG market is quite weak this year, at least for the TMLE.  Why do so many fans want us to trade a very good player in Brogdon?

Recency bias.

I get Brad trying to deal him for Porzingis, but we shouldn't move him just for the sake of moving him.

Agreed. I don't see what the Clippers have that would be worth giving up Brogdon for.

T Mann is the only piece I really like but I still don't value him anywhere close to Brogdon. So I don't see what trade package they can offer up that would be worthwhile here.

Saric to the Warriors

I like that. The type of small ball offensive center that works so well in GSW's offense. Good fit for team and player.

Some talk about CP3 starting in GSW

One lineup is with Draymond at center

G: CP3
G: Steph
F: Klay
F: Wiggins
C: Draymond

That team is too small. They need some more size in there. A bigger forward or bring Looney back in with Draymond moving to forward. I actually like the idea of benching Klay instead of CP3.

G: CP3
G: Steph
F: Wiggins, Klay
F: Draymond
C: Looney

With how much Klay now struggles on defense, I have wanted GSW to move him to a bench role. Prior to getting CP3 I mean. It would be an interesting fit. Klay super-scorer off the bench. CP3 would have to defend SGs. He is small but bulky and smart. Might work. Like Lowry at SG next to VanVleet at PG in Toronto 2-3 years ago (whenver that was).

This is True! kind of reminds me of the Celtics Last year, If we wanted to play our Best Players and scorers, we got really small.

I think That was Brads idea with CP, Can have our best 5 players on the court and we are better balanced.

I like Paul George. We need to add some salary and value.

Either Brogdon + Horford + Pritchard + picks or Brogdon + Brown would work.

Mann and Zubac?  A backup 5 and a backup 2 in place of our 6th man?

We'll know a lot more about this point guard market depending on Fred VanVleet's decision after meeting with Toronto. Definitely a growing sense that Raptors' possible four-year, $120 million offer could outweigh interest from Houston.

A positive sign? Raptors meeting w/ Fred VanVleet in LA at 3pm PT, his first *official* contact of FA. There is some optimism that 4th yr @ $30m will be enough to keep VanVleet in TO. Would also help cause re: Poeltl who is expected to be in range of 4yrs at $20m+. We'll see.

Toronto may outbid Houston for VanVleet

Getting Porzingis to re-up for 2/60M is massive. 3/96M for a player of his caliber is awesome in today's NBA, and he's still just 27 years old. Fits the timeline beautifully and definitely adds some juice to the frontcourt. Yeah health is a concern but nowadays who isn't an injury concern? Even the likes of Giannis, Curry, Lebron, etc. get hurt often if we're being honest. There's always risk
