Middleton declined his player option

He’s a free agent

They’ll probably giving him a longer (restructured) contract to stay in Milwaukee?
Would imagine this to be the case. No way he declines without a guarantee, given his age and injury worries. Still, to convince him to decline the option makes me think they'll be giving him a high-paying deal. Probably too much so
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Reports that the Hawks’ owner has ordered Fields to get the team under the luxury tax. Less need for Bey now after the Walsh signing, but anything else there that we could reasonably trade for while clearing some salary for them?

Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

There are four guys I think they could trade. I think Capella is the most replaceable because of Okongwu's development. Collins they've been trying to trade for years. Bogdonavic is a good player, but he seems redundant to me and not especially helpful as a shot creator. Finally, Hunter has been disappointing in his development.

I think any of the four would be helpful to the Cs, but I doubt they trade any to the Cs. More than likely, one of them goes to the Pistons, Pacers, Magic, or Spurs as a salary dump.

I see Dallas making a run on either Capela or Collins
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Can we grab Bogdonavic for Grant and Pritchard? I would like Bogdonavic off our bench. I think he's signed for four more years at 18 per year which is a good chunk of changes but he would be a good fit here. Maybe just Grant for Bogdonavic straight up. I think Grant wants to make 18 per.

I can’t imagine the Walsh signing has any impact on other moves they make.  The kid is 19 yrs old.  There’s no guarantee a guy drafted at #38 will ever make any meaningful contribution to an NBA roster.  If he does, it will probably be 2-3 years down the line when it starts to materialize.  This team wants to win now.

That would be bad for them. Means the Bucks will immediately drop to a middling/low-playoff team. Giannis can't do it all himself. But, we'd have to wait and see what their new additions are, and how good their new coach is.

You guys can stop salivating over Naz Reid now.

Timberwolves center Naz Reid has agreed on a new three-year, $42 million deal with a player option, his agents Sean Kennedy and Jeff Schwartz of @excelbasketball tell ESPN. Undrafted out of LSU, Reid had his best season with 11.5 points and 4.9 rebounds.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington

That would seemingly set the upper market for Grant.

Lillard is unhappy with Portland not trading the pick for a star player. What competition will there be for Lillard if the Celtics make an offer for him?

Brooklyn? Miami?

Yeah, the only path to that seems to be Brogdon + White + several 1sts (2024 BOS, 2024 GSW, 2026 BOS, 2028 BOS, swap rights in '25, '27, '29)

That would leave us with:

Timelord / Kornet
Porzingis / Horford / Grant
Tatum / Hauser / Walsh
Brown
Lillard / Pritchard / Davidson

Screw it, I'm all in.  Sign a backup center and somebody who can fill in at SG, and we're rolling.  Weak bench, but the best starters in the league by far.
