After an awesome Mother's Day big Breakfast and a Celtics blowout win, now it feels even sweeter getting takeout for dinner! And the weather has been beautiful this weekend too

Oh and I hope Doris Burke is enjoying her day

i don’t mind JT celebrating, but considering how he has played most of this postseason, as well as the finals, and considering basketball is a team sport, the celebration of his box score isn’t a great look.

If not being falsely modest fuels him playing like he has the past 5 quarters, more power to him.

I mean, P.J. Tucker of all people was giving us the "too small" gesture.  Niang grabbed JB from the bench.  JT can celebrate as he wants to.

So when the opponent acts like a horse's ass, our players should respond in kind ?

Behaving with some integrity is not "false modesty."
This is particularly pompous, even for you.

Can someone remind me how long the plan was in the Process to make a conference finals appearance?

Out of courtesy I think they're waiting for Iguodala and Holiday to retire.

It's wild that the Sixers could have easily had a lineup that includes Embiid / Tatum / Butler / SGA.

Yeah they chose Fultz over Tatum, which in hindsight I hated Ainge for that trade (#1 for #3) but it worked out beautifully. Their biggest mistake was essentially choosing Harris over Butler. They could have potentially had Embiid, Harden and Butler on the same team as well.

Idk if it was Harris over Butler, but Simmons over Butler. I know there was contract stuff, but I think they would've paid Jimmy if he wanted to stay. It ultimately came down to Butler wanting more playmaking opportunities and Simmons wasn't willing to concede that. They should've traded Simmons then.

Losing Butler might be the biggest mistake of the Embiid era.

Yeah, choosing Harrs/simmons over Butler will end up being their biggest mistake. Embiid with Butler instead of Harden is dangerous.

they basically only lost that year on a last second shot by Kawhi

how quickly narratives can change in the NBA.

5 quarters ago it was going to be about how the sixers finally got over the hump that is the celtics, and questions surrounding Tatum's drive/status after a poor series.

then the 16 point 4th quarter and a 51 point masterclass in game 7 and its "has tatum turned the corner" and now questions mount for the sixers after another disappointing finish and apparently Harden wanting to go back to Houston.

Not sure what this means from Woj? Setting up for a ref screw job to make up for Celtics advantage?
::)
Yep. Absolutely this. Expect them calling every single Joel flop today 🙄

This is the exact playbook that Donaghy discussed.

Now doc whining about it. Saying it's why they lost game 6

Yeah, I think I read that wrong before. This looks like clear gamesmanship from Doc. Have someone leak this to Woj, hope the refs see it, and then do more whining about it pregame to further pressure the refs.

Will say, he’s largely an inept coach when it comes to adjustments and actual basketball decision-making, but he’s a master of working the refs and media and doing his part to influence the game.

If you don’t think your imperious posts exhibit a gross sense of self-importance then I don’t know what to tell you. Regardless of how Tatum behaves, you find room to criticise him.

If he shows emotion in his own way, as he did today, you criticise him for acting like LeBron. If he doesn’t, you’d say he didn’t have the will to win of Garnett. Impossible to win

Yep. They had there chance to finish the deal while Tatum while was stinking up the joint. Then the dude got his groove back.

I think Tatum does celebrate a little too much. Gotta keep your head in the game. But what a game. 51 points and no turnovers.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the problem. There are hundreds of players in the NBA who celebrate after a big game, some who look like lunatics doing so too. And a lot of them haven't won anything either or haven't even been in the playoffs often. But if JT does it, it's a problem? So is it an issue if Butler yells and screams after some big plays in a big game? He hasn't won anything either.

This isn't directed at you or anyone in particular, just my own opinion.

He gets criticized if he doesn't show emotion. He gets criticized if he does.

Some people are just going to complain for the sake of complaining.

We are not talking about showing emotion.

I was referring to very specific gestures.

I love what Tatum did. If it was Bird, everyone would be saying how bad ass it was, calling himself one of the best players in the world after game 6 and then proving it again in spades in game 7 and celebrating. Go Tatum!

I don’t mind players showing emotion at the right time in place. Including Tatum. But you need to keep your head in the game for the whole game.  If you are thinking, even for a moment about how many points you have or how many threes you have hit that is a few moments you aren’t thinking about the game.
