I can't wait for the inevitable disappointment when we mindlessly retain this idiot over Nurse or Monty Williams.

As much as I clown on Doc Rivers, he's better than Mazzulla. Sixers didn't lose Game 7 because of Doc, and the C's didn't win Game 7 because of Mazzulla either. We have the worst coach left in the postseason and it's not even close. Same thing last round, and I'd argue that's part of the reason we went 7 games against what should have been an easy PHI team who we usually own (remember, Mazz cost us Game 4 late in regulation + OT)

Why did Pritchard play at all? White only had 21 minutes. I don’t get that at all. Hope someone asks him about it.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This game is exactly why I will not pay to go see a game. You just don’t know what team shows up for Boston. Literally weak effort in the 3rd quarter that was downright embarrassing. Lack of effort and heart in that third quarter.

Before any of the apologists chime in:  yes, the players need to perform.  They let up, played stupidly, and got embarrassed.

But, a coach's job is to put his team in a position to succeed.  Not calling timeouts, playing small, inserting non-rotation players out of nowhere, etc., are all coaching failures.

Even if we go by his logic of not calling timeouts to make sure the team stays resilient and "learns", then why the hell do we even need a coach? As someone said in the other thread, you can have an empty chair on the sideline (no coach) and have similar results anyways. Mazz is cashing in salary checks for just standing there.

Yeah, precisely. Joe wasn't the one turning it over, or slacking off on the perimeter shooters, or executing foolish double teams, or fouling. But it is his role to guide the team, correct errors, and aid success. So many of his decisions to the exact opposite of this

Miami scored 46 third-quarter points and Mazzula never called a timeout. What is this guy's problem? Why is he so obsessed with not using timeouts?

Thank you!

We were told by Joe originally that certain teams were "just not good matchups" for GWill, which is why he didn't play. Now, we've essentially made him a benchwarmer with regular DNPs. It just makes no sense whatsoever, especially to play PP over him and give an automatic mismatch to a team that does nothing but exploit mismatches all game long.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

You guys are naming guys who actually went through an interview process and, with careful planning and analysis, were specifically hired by their respective organizations.

Dumbass Brad decided, what the hell, this guy can probably coach. And just handed the keys to Joe without any contingency plans in place. Even bringing on an experienced associate head coach could have really helped. It's mind-boggling how this whole situation was handled with regards to a championship-ready roster.
