THIS SHOULD BE A GRANT WILLIAMS SERIES.  AND HE DOESN'T PLAY AT ALL.

I mean, I think that this is obvious to everyone.  Except our head coach.

Give me freaking Darvin Ham over this clown, even taht guy knows what to do

You guys are naming guys who actually went through an interview process and, with careful planning and analysis, were specifically hired by their respective organizations.

Dumbass Brad decided, what the hell, this guy can probably coach. And just handed the keys to Joe without any contingency plans in place. Even bringing on an experienced associate head coach could have really helped. It's mind-boggling how this whole situation was handled with regards to a championship-ready roster.
Haha, man, what a silly process. It's honestly quite astonishing how prematurely we made him substantive, rather than just the interim

It would have been totally acceptable to keep him in the interim role the whole year because of the Ime situation and because of how he was hired.

The worst part is, we are either stuck with him moving forward or we lose him forever if we do fire him. And I get people are ready to never see his face again, but he was a very good assistant coach and he could have gone back into that role once we officially hired a more qualified coach this offseason. He also might have been seen as somebody who really stepped up rather than the failure we are all painting him as right now.

One of the subtle joys of watching Celtics games is the announcers just being puzzled at multiple things, and searching for a possible rationale… when it’s as simple as their coach just not being ready for the job he abruptly was handed.

When you're so bad that even Nick Wright can see it and have Celtics fans agreeing with him, that's a bad sign.

Spo ate him up in the second half. It was ugly.

Felt bad enough about the loss, but now I have to agree with Nick Wright?!?

Marcus Smart on the lack of timeouts: "Joe is real big on not bailing us out on stuff when we are playing like Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline....We have to look in the mirror. It's on us."

It just gets worse and worse. Arrogant and dogmatic while simultaneously inexperienced and incompetent is a recipe for disaster.

(P.S. - so many posters here assured us that this was just a regular season philosophy and strategy. Sure enough, they were wrong.)

I get that he wants them to "learn" but you are the coach. You have to bail them out when it gets bad. Don't just play conservative with the timeouts. Freaking use it!

Just finished watching, got started late bc getting my daughter to bed was a nightmare.  Really disappointed and I figured this thread would be a feeding frenzy.

Like most, I’m baffled with the decision to play PP.

We get demolished in the 3rd quarter.  Joes adjustment is to throw his clipboard.  Nice.

My personal favorite is Reggie Miller saying that Joe told him that this is ‘a mindset series, not a play calling series’. I have a feeling coming across a  ‘play calling series’ is a rare thing for Joe

Does ownership have it in them to step in and fix this cluster after the season ends (badly).

This is as much on Brad as it is Joe. Joe is in way over his head, it is obvious.
They let the Ime thing drag on through the summer without being prepared to hire a replacement.
Then they throw this moron into the fire one week before training camp started.
What a disservice to a talented contender entering the prime years of it's core guys.
If there was ever an experienced, talented team that needed a firm hand and solid coaching, this group is it.
Lots of talent with some of the main guys dumber than a rock on the basketball court.

Ownership needs to have the sense of urgency their team so often lacks.
They are wasting the next Celtics championship group and it is very hard to watch.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Ownership bought into College Boy Brad philosophy. To be frank, I am done with Brad. He's been here for 10 years and it's just the same soft mentality attitude that comes outta here. We need guys who can kill on the court. Guys who play bully ball. Guys who throw elbows around and scream at other teammates to inspire them and fire them up.

Gosh if it's Lakers/Celtics Finals, Old Man LeBron and the Lakers gonna annihilate this team in 4 games.

+ a million on your brad take. He sucked as a coach and equally sucks as a gm.

This proud franchise is owned, managed, and coached by morons.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

They do pretty well for morons then. How many ECF in the last 8 years? Any other teams with that kind of sustained success in the East?
