Just peeked at the box score.  No interest in watching the actual game.

Interesting to see the Nuggets beating the Heat down with only 11 three point attempts at the half.  Who would have thought you could build a large lead in an NBA game with 2 pointers?  (Pay attention, Joe).

I thought Miami should have started Kevin Love and used him against Jokic. Then Bam as a free safety playing off of A Gordon.

I like K Love in this series. This could be a good matchup for him. Love is a strong powerful man. I think he could do well against Jokic in one-on-ones. Love struggles more with speed and athleticism which is not Jokic's forte. Jokic will still score on Love, sure, but it will free up Bam to be more disruptive defensively. That is the benefit.

Wouldn't he be giving up 5 inches?

Love is 6-8 / 6-9. Jokic 6-11.

Edit: I looked it up = 6-8. 3 inches.

I remember when we were all fantasizing about how we would use the Hayward TPE, I kept advocating for Aaron Gordon and everyone here kept telling me he wasn't a winning player.

He could've been the Al Horford replacement.

Ok, Love can't guard the Joker... No one on the Heat can.

  • GOT IT!!!
Miami is now facing a team that will not let them just try to keep it close and win. They will be playing catch up as they should.

Ok, Love can't guard the Joker... No one on the Heat can.

LAL got some joy out of having Hachimura defend Jokic. Also LeBron on Jokic. I believe Love can defend Jokic as well if not better than both those guys.

It was not so much their individual defense on Jokic that improved LAL's defense. It was freeing up AD to play off of A Gordon defensively and screw up their offense. It was allowing AD to double up on Jokic and be able to double with a 2nd big man instead of a smaller wing player which was more disruptive for Jokic.

Kevin Love can offer similar value here with Bam as the disruptive team defender playing off of A Gordon. Use two bigs to slow down Jokic. Instead of one and a bunch of smalls. And that one big so worried about Jokic that he is limited as a help defender so Miami's interior D is wide open.

Denver had almost as much time off before round 1.  They blew the Wolves out in game 1, but the rest of the series was pretty close.  In other words, not a very surprising start to the game.  I am interested to see how this ends.  Does Miami make it a game or does Denver win going away.

Careful, Joe will tell you that the team isn't taking enough 3's and we need 3's to win!
