I wouldn’t mind adding Barton, but I feel like he’s really just a 2 guard. Kinda like Stanley Johnson more due to his size and defensive ability.

Stanley Johnson is younger, stronger, a better defender, and can play more positions.

Yeah Stanley Johnson would also be an awesome get. I'd prefer him too. I just don't know if we've been linked to him, but then again it seems with Brad Stevens we always end up with the guy we aren't all over. That's probably a good testament to Brad keeping a tight ship and not leaking too many things

Hawks coach Nate McMillan has been dismissed per Woj.

Guess the Hawks couldn't stand losing despite them making it to the conference finals a couple years ago

Trae did not always get a long with Nate. I’m not surprised by this. Wonder if they go after Udoka.

That’s an interesting take. Ime may be able to whip this team up to be a reall threat. They do have the tools in Trae, Dejounte, Capela, Collins. Collins in particular has been under utilized by Nate.

Stanley Johnson is 6'-6" and 242 lbs with 7'-0" wingspan.  Will Barton is 6'5", 181 lbs, 6'-10" wingspan.  I have always thought of Barton as more of a SG/SF tweener (not that there is anything wrong with that).  Barton has been a reliable 12-15 pts/gm scorer for several seasons, but he is down this season.  Johnson has been a bad shooter for several seasons but was hitting his 3s this season.

I think we could probably get Johnson if we wanted him.  I would be OK with that but wouldn't expect him to help all that much.  Barton probably has something in mind, not sure where that would be.  He will probably help some team some, but probably not all that much.

If we get Barton, we will end up with a very complete unit:

Marcus Smart     Derrick White         JD Davison (Reg season only)
Jaylen Brown      Malcolm Brogdon    Payton Pritchard
Jayson Tatum     Will Barton             Sam Hauser
Al Horford          Grant Williams        Blake Griffin
Rob Williams      Mike Muscala          Luke Kornet

That "second" unit is really quite good.  And we don't really need Davison for the 3rd unit but he is a nice fit (2-ways cannot play in playoffs unless converted to regular contract, which we cannot do unless we cut someone).

Yeah.  When called on it, Kyrie’s reaction was along the lines of “I delete a lot of stuff”.

I’m a little surprised with how carefully he curates his image and brand that Lebron doesn’t view associating with kyrie as a bigger risk.

Should be interesting…

Ben Simmons may very well be on his last nba contract

Years ago, I watched the documentary of his year in college.  He was absolutely miserable.  I felt bad for him.  His parents had isolated him from others and micromanaged all the fun out of his life since he was a kid.

Quinn Snyder seems to be the top choice, as well as the lead assistant in Milwaukee, whose name I’m blanking on but am too lazy to look up.  I’ve got the name Charles Lee in my head but that’s probably because I’ve been listening to Hamilton lately.
