I agree this seems really weird. Grant hasn’t played in like a month and was at home the last week. Was he traveling around with John candy today? (Props to the old heads that get the reference)

Ben Simmons may very well be on his last nba contract

Why? The guy is making history!

I'm trying to think back.  I seem to recall some folks on here thinking that Simmons would get his act together with the Nets and the Nets won the trade with the Sixers.

I recall several posters here screaming to pay whatever it took to get Simmons when they heard the Sixers wanted to move him and then again once he was in Brooklyn despite how he's played there.

Dang, was hoping that the Cavs would beat the Nuggets and provide some more space for that overall top seed.

It's not like Portland to Sacramento are that far apart. A flight is prob 1.5 hour. No time zone changes. Don't get this lol.

Memphis looks like a first round exit

Yeah, I was just getting ready to say the same thing. They look like pretenders more than contenders. Every time I watch them play a good team they seem to fold down the stretch.

Memphis did this same thing last year.  They are very inconsistent.  The don't have Adams tonight.  He'd have helped against Embiid, though they did ok against him even without Adams.

The thing is, the West is a very crowded group and a lot of teams are close to each other in the standings. It might really come down to seedings and matchups. If MEM lucks out they can still make a run. But if they play someone like LAC or PHX first round and those teams are healthy then yeah maybe they are first round exits

I do think if MEM can get healthy (like getting Adams back) and can stay healthy they are still a great team

Wow, Memphis. I thought they needed another year to develop last year to truly be contenders, but they may need another one.

Great look by Bane, but that second one was questionable, though you can live with it from such an elite shooter. But that fadeaway, going out of bounds three by JJJ with ten seconds left on the clock? Man, he may be the worst BBIQ player in the league between his shot selection and fouls.

Of course, the Blazers are up 19-4 in the first quarter, so perhaps they’re a better team when Lillard and Grant sit?

Kyrie and Luka got their first W as teammates. Guess the new look Mavs are at least good enough to beat the spurs.

The newly acquired Lakers are pretty decent...Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba. Anything is possible in the West. 4 game difference between the 5th seed and 13th seed.

Yeah, the Lakers really improved themselves, and they only had to give up one first rounder, while bringing in multiple seconds.  Lebron + Davis + Russell + Vanderbilt scored a combined 31 points, but they won because all of a sudden they have good depth.

Time will tell, but I think that Mo Bamba is going to look decent going forward.  There were arguments at the trade line that he wasn't rotation-worthy, or didn't have any positive value.  I think he's closer to the player he showed last night.
