Just saw Randal make an amazing fade away. Got up and hustled back on defense. Didn't take his time getting up while chirping at the ref. That's what you do when you want to win badly.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

So he drafted Keegan Murray and traded for Sabonis.  Definitely big improvement by the team but I am not sure those moves are so spectacular.  I guess the trade is probably the noteworthy move.  It took some guts to trade Haliburton to get a big that would alter the team in the way that it did.

Voting results.  Brad finished 5th.  Some genius gave Sean Marks a first place vote.

I think I'm more offended by Tim Connelly's third place vote.  Gobert was the worst trade of the off-season.

Don’t think the sabonis trade counts for this year, but he did definitely fleece the hawks for Kevin huerter.

I don't know how this works but assuming you are right that the Sabonis trade doesn't even count (you are right, that trade was at the deadline in 2022), he is executive of the year because he traded for Keven Huerter?  I have to think that the Sabonis trade factored in, even if it was not officially completed as part of the 2022-23 season.  It was part of building the team for the 2022-23 season.

Did he hire Mike Brown for this season?  Maybe that is the factor.  Hiring the coach of the year.

My guess is that voters also gave him credit for the Mike Brown hiring.  And ultimately, they just wanted to reward McNair for the team improving by 18 wins.

Hate to say it, but I think Pelinka should have won. He significantly transformed the roster over the course of a month and the pieces seem to fit.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

You don’t get a ton of credit for giving a first rounder away to rectify a previous bad trade. If that ends up being a lottery pick which is certainly very possible given Lebron will be retired and Anthony Davis 35 for a 2027 first rounder it could be a disaster of a trade. Horton Tucker for Beverly wasn’t a great trade, nor was getting bamba. Vanderbilt seems like the one really nice pickup they got.

Pretty crazy…

Bobby Marks: Last 4 NBA Champions Toronto LA Lakers Milwaukee Golden St. Steve Kerr is the only HC remaining – via Twitter BobbyMarks42

What you mean is, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, Mike Budenholzer who were former coaches there respectively all got canned.

So if Kerr loses to the Lakers or to a Western Conference opponent next round, he'll be the next to see the door huh. I'll give up my left kidney to have him coach the Celtics if that's the case! That would be a no-brainer move to can Joe and get Kerr!

During an edition of the "Pat Bev Podcast with Rone," Beverley recalled running into his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate at the gym Wednesday.

"Hey Pat, Lakers win, I want my ring," Westbrook said, according to Beverley, who feels the same way.

"Russ, we gonna be suited and booted, boy, I'm gonna be right there waiting on that ring," he said on his podcast.

The Lakers would probably give them one, but I'm surprised to see the players actively relishing the idea of getting a ring that they didn't earn.  Would they really consider themselves NBA champions in their minds?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Fifteen-year NBA veteran and ESPN analyst JJ Redick has interviewed for the Toronto Raptors’ coaching job, sources tell ESPN. Redick was part of a first-round of candidates to meet with franchise leadership.

Joe offered Redick a spot on the Celtics staff last year:
