Mike Brown is surely deserving, but I’m surprised Joe didn’t get even one first place vote.

Eh, he was unanimous for a reason. The COTY award always goes to a coach who had his team overachieve from preseason expectations, and that was the definition of the Kings this year.

I'm surprised Joe actually got third with some of the other deserving candidates who did more to overachieve, like Bickerstaff.

Mike Brown def deserved that award. Being up 2-0 against the defending champion Warriors may also have been the edging factor in deciding, if they count these two postseason games. Otherwise, a great year for that franchise and solid coach.

Will be interesting to see if Brogdon gets 6th man of the year. It’s going to be close between him and Quickley..

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Too bad. He was looking dominant in the first two games.

The Los Angeles Clippers have ruled Kawhi Leonard out for Thursday night's Game 3 against the Phoenix Suns because of a right knee sprain, a source told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

Leonard aggravated his right knee in Game 1, played through it in Game 2 and is expected to be day-to-day ahead of Game 4 on Saturday, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The injury isn't related to his previous ACL injury, the source told Wojnarowski.

Wow. That is terrible. That has been such a great series so far. Best series of the first round. I hope Kawhi can come back at full strength & quickly. Hate to see the series ruined. They are already without PG13. They have no chance without Kawhi & PG13.

They need to throw in the towel on the PG/Kawhi era. They give the 19-23 Nets a run for their money when it comes to most dysfunctional and disappointing teams in the history of the game.

Kawhi has played 80 min in two games, putting up 69 total points.  What made anyone think his knees were going to hold up.

Great player, great career, only 31.  Maybe he can hang in for one more run but I think he has known his knees were a problem for a while.  Wasn't the issue that he sat out for a long time in SAN because he didn't trust the medical staff or something?

Good coach, but the players had clearly tuned him out this season. Toronto really struggled offensively this year, not sure Ime would help much in that department.

Nick Nurse has been fired after five seasons as Toronto Raptors coach, the team announced Friday.

Former Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka is expected to be a serious candidate to replace Nurse, sources said.

The move comes after Raptors president Masai Ujiri and Nurse met several times since their season ended to discuss how they might move forward together. Nurse had one year and more than $8 million left on his contract, sources said.

Surprised that he was fired, as opposed to leaving on his own.

Not close enough to the team to determine whether he was tuned out or whatever but that roster was borked from the start.  They had one point guard (who had a bad year - possibly because he was overburdened), no bigs until the trade deadline, and about four hundred 6'8" PFs with shaky outside shots.  Surprise!  Your team can't shoot.  You got exactly what you deserved.  So I really don't view this as Nurse's fault.

If I'm in the market for a coach this offseason, he's at the top of my list.  Sideline histrionics aside, I think he's a very good coach.  And unlike a certain somebody else, you (hopefully) don't have to worry about him banging his way through your organization.

If he left on his own, pretty sure that would result in him forfeiting the $8M that he was owed from Toronto. Will be interesting to see where Nurse ends up.
