Kelly Iko: The Houston Rockets will interview Ime Udoka for the franchise’s head coaching job on Wednesday, sources tell @TheAthletic. Udoka was suspended by the Boston Celtics prior to the 2022-23 season for violations of team policies. – via Twitter KellyIko
Ime should turn them down. Wait for a better job. He'll get better offers than that.

Houston could have a Top Draft pick coming up, and have enough cap space for 2 max signings (or 1 + a few great role players or solid starters). So that job might not be as bad as it seems. Houston could be rising soon

Yeah, I'm not down on Houston.  And, I think Ime is going to have to start near the bottom of the ladder again.

I'm not really sure how much of the bottom Houston is going to be next year.  Smith, Green, Sengun, Porter, Top 5 pick, Cap Room for 2 maxes, plus some solid young depth in Eason, Martin, Tate, Nix.  The Rockets could be a very good team next year.

I think if Philly loses in the 2nd round, couldn't it be time for a Doc 6ers split? I suspect there is no better opportunity as that. As a celtics fan it'd be my worse nightmare if Ime ends up the head coach in philly.

Yeah Philly could be an intriguing option for him. That said, I do wonder how the roster even looks with PHI next season assuming they lose in the 2nd round. Does Embiid feel disgruntled? Does Harden definitely stay? I don't think any of that is set in stone.

I expect Houston to continue to intentionally lose next season.

They will struggle to get high caliber FAs there because those guys do not want to play with a bunch of kids who don't know how to play / how to win. So I do not expect them to get major help from that cap space/

Jalen Green is still a loser who doesn't know how to play (bad shot selection, no D, inconsistent). Sengun is a loser (no D, costs you as many points as he gets you). Jabari Smith is a loser (a mediocre bench player trying to develop & establish himself). Their upcoming top 5 pick will almost certainly be a loser as well.

This is the type of team that will be a trainwreck and then make a scapegoat out of their head coach. Now if you were sure they would be patient and give 3-4 years, sure, then it becomes an interesting job but that hardly ever happens. You cannot expect that. Much more likely you will be fired 1-2 years in and never get to see that brighter future that the team has further down the road.

I don't think so. I expect contenders to be interested in him. Very few coaches have led a team to an NBA Finals. He has a lot of pedigree. He will get a good opportunity if he is patient.

Will be interesting to see what the league does…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Green has to be suspended..

Well, we know if this act is considered domestic violence it's only going to be a slap on the wrist.

well maybe Sabonis shouldn't have grabbed Green's legs or continued playing.  I believe this report is entirely the Kings trying to get Green suspended.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Well Draymond requested an X-Ray for his ankle that Sabonis grabbed. Is he also trying to garner sympathy?  ::)

Please. There's no excuse for what Draymond did right after which is stomping someone on the ground. And frankly, if the league does nothing about it then I think all bets are off, guys will have no problem playing even more physical and making "dangerous plays" too

Draymond had a history of playing like a thug. 'member 2015-2016 in the reg season against the Celtics? Tackled two of our defenders before losing at home for the first time of the season in April. Then, we got lost year's shenanigans with him. He's got a pretty hated rep in Boston. If this series go back to Game 5 then Kings fans will be extra hostile towards him

Maybe, but arguably - given the disruption to the organisation - there are few teams that would willingly entertain that kind of impact to the off-the-court workplace.

There was no excuse for Sabonis to have grabbed Green's ankle and there was no excuse for Green's stomping Sabonis in the chest.  Green's act was clearly the most violent of the two acts and not justified and the ejection was the appropriate punishment.  Green rightly received a fragrant 2 call last night although Sabonis' act was also dangerous.

Yep.  That is exactly what Draymond was doing.  Trying to avoid a suspension.  It is all gamesmanship.

Green was given a flagrant 2 and ejected, that seems like the correct penalty given Sabonis instigated and started the entire thing with his own dangerous play.  Had Sabonis not grabbed Green's leg, then there is no stomp and no ejection.
