This story has just been the absolute worst, from the sketchy way it was initially reported, to the very unfair speculation regarding who the women involved is, to the way the Celtics have handled it so far by not getting out ahead of it and instead allowing speculation to run rampant, to the effect its gonna have on the upcoming season, to what is probably a tough situation for Nia Long/Ime's family. All of it sucks.

Really really not looking forward to this story come media day.

Media day is Monday, the Celtics have to have a press conference before that right?

Per Brandon Robinson:

“Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka and his partner are believed to have been separated prior to current issue sources tell @BallySports

Celtics players have been aware of current issue with their coach for a couple of days & were briefed earlier this week.”
Could just be poor wording but I'll note "current issue".  That might mean there have been previous issue(s) with Ime.

A twitter account apparently tweeted the following an hour before Woj's initial tweet.

Here's where being a vikings fan comes in handy. You become a pro at learning to live without nice things.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Louisville fans remember Pitino and Sypher, and also how Louisville re-hired Petrino after he was fired at Arkansas for having an affair with someone he hired.

Unpopular opinion: hope Ime is fired

We finally found a championship coach and now this. Every company I have been at , people sleeping with each other. I get he broke rules, one year seems extreme in this day and age.  I am disgusted and disappointed that our current society is so uptight.

Media day is gonna be FUN.

What a selfish, moronic thing to do.

Have to think Boston gets this out before the weekend. Need a chance to prepare players and the new HC before Monday.

He agreed to the organization's code of conduct when he took the job. He violated it. Its not about society being uptight, it's about him blatantly disregarding the organization's policies.

If he isn't fired there really was no need to let this leak out. The Celtics could have just handled it in house as conduct detrimental to the team. Also, if he is suspended for a year I don't see how he doesn't resign at that point as it would be an embarrassing situation to be in for that long and it would be a distraction to the team.

If you make a deal you keep it. A year's suspension seems really harsh.

One year is too long. How about a month, fine for charity and apology? This still seems extreme to me. Is anyone in this country allowed to make a mistake any longer?

Too harsh for sure.
