Tatum had some rough TOs, but 30 points on 12 FGA is insane efficiency. I'm not sure we can count on that again, but we are going to need him.

Smart had more FG attempts than either Jayson or Jaylen. We need him to be more in floor general mode than shooter mode. He's done it before, he needs to refocus and do it on Sunday. Also, Ime has to make adjustments when that happens.

Heat shot 43% from three. That’s the difference

We made them too comfortable though. Didn't have that killer edge, that means everything in a game of inches

I don't know man.  They made a lot of deeeep threes.  I don't know if it was comfort.  I think they just hit a lot of low-percentage looks.  Butler was 4-8 from three, and Lowry/Strus were hitting 28-footers.  Statistically, those are shots that we want them taking - and shots that they were banging off the backboard in G4 and G5.

That was the difference in the game, really.  At least we play again on Sunday.

One thing that  is so depressing is how stupid is Ime in managing the challenge. I think he lost more than 50% of the challenge. And the timing too.

Rule of thumb is if either Tatum or GWill asks for a challenge don’t do it.

Yeah, that is absolutely frustrating. He does regularly do that.  Some of those calls down the stretch were so bad as to be laughable.

But that's why I think the challenge rule in it's current form makes no sense. At least give coaches 1 per half. Especially with how questionable the refs typically are.

Absolutely agree. Or at least you get to keep your challenge if you win it. The refs are just too inconsistent and frequently wrong to limit it to one challenge.

Any Marcus smart slander will not be tolerated. Because everyone criticizing him was crying for him to be on the floor the games he has missed.

So just stop. It’s freaking pathetic.

This fanbase is mentally weak and soft.

Attacking other posters who are rightfully frustrated is soft and weak

Exactly. We forced them into late clock, contested, deep 3's. That in itself is good defense.

There were 2 things that Brown was not good at in his rookie year, dribbling and shooting FTs.
There are 2 things that Brown is not good at now..

Gonna suck to watch Larry Bird give that trophy to Jimmy Butler on Sunday night.

While true, Tatum would have had more shots had he not turned it over 7 times.  (Granted, I think 2-3 of those were ref aided).

We should have stuck with White down the stretch instead of Smart. We were rolling with White in there.

And I'm one of the biggest Smart fans you'll find.

but he deserves the criticism for his play tonight; he was abysmal on both ends of the floor.

the problem with this team is their ceiling is incredibly high but their floor hasn’t been raised and is still too low to be contenders. you can’t be in contention if your bad games are atrocious on a semi-regular basis. it’s a maturity issue that has plagued this team for years and it’s true of every starter, particularly jt, jb, and marcus.

Should have put Robert Williams back in the game for Al. Should have sat smart.

This is the game that showed all. Even if they win on Sunday they just don’t understand how to play smart ball consistently. When you finally think you have a gauge on them they show you that nothing changed. They are tougher but never learn. They literally played from behind all game because of dumb basketball then by the 4th Q it didn’t matter because Miami already had enough confidence to win. Talent but no brains.

 youa re NOT wrong

Expectations are now gone for this team. Whatever happens going forward so be it. I'll be watching Game 7 with a ho hum attitude, so disappointing tonight.

Ime really needs to get his head out of the sand. Hes worse than Brad with in game adjustments. You could tell in the first 5 minutes that smart didnt have it but he kept him on butler all game. And not playing pritchard is starting to p*** me off. We couldve used a couple 3s from him tonight, instead the only 3 he got was 3 minutes of playing time. And lets run some plays for the Jays, how many times did we just pound the air out of the ball instead of running a quick pick and roll or something with the Jay's

PP in that corner instead of Marcus changes the offense.

we see how hot PP can get in game 2.  play him and white more. less smart. sorry smart killed us tonight
