Thoughts on Hasan Whiteside for the MLE?

Gross.
Eh, he can rebound really well and protect the rim a little bit. Seems like just what we need, even if he only plays in certain matchups.

Amazing. Brown literally fouls Smart like he thinks he’s a Buck on the game clinching play — and y’all are talking about Grant Williams.

Hopefully the team has just as bad of a taste in their mouth as we do. And hopefully they use it to fuel them on Friday.

But, man, this one just took the wind out of my sails. I was thinking all fourth, "There's no way they can blow this lead. They've been alot better since the early season." But I knew deep down with our awful, iso offense we just were somehow going to find a way to screw this up. Just demoralizing.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He is such a bad teammate, nobody wants Whiteside.

When Oscar Tshiebwe elects for the draft we should take him. Otherwise, just try and get TL healthy

The BUCKS took it.

Yeah this is true too y’all… holliday and Giannis absolutely devastating and there role players were drilling threes in the 4th and they weren’t even open 3s

The fact that all these games are close when they don't even have Middleton has been a bad sign all series. Their offense keeps the Bucks in every game.

Anyone got any plausible reason for Grant playing ~3x as many minutes as Theis, despite playing so pathetically?

It’s called bad coaching, Gouki. Theis was having his best game of the series and the coach doesn’t know how to adjust the game plan.
Yeah, it really is that simple sadly. Theis was absolutely punishing them inside and generating easy looks. Grant was terrible. Make the [dang] adjustment Ime

At the half Grant had 0 points, 1ast, 2rebs in 21mins and was a -7. The only stat that increased was fouls, TO’s and he went from a -7 +/- to a -11. That’s just pathetic considering he played 31mins. I like Grant off the bench, but he’s terrible as a starter.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:
Quote
At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
What is really sad is that MIL had more points off of Giannis' missed FTs than Giannis had missed FTs.

And, honestly, why did MIL hit a million 3 pointers in the 4th? I understand that the Cs totally blew this game, but they hit everything over and over again.

Everyone has covered the bad play. Grant Williams playing 30 minutes is a key reason as to why the game was that close in the first place.

Hmm... even if it's for barely any money? I'd take a chance and see if Ime can motivate him, but that's just me.

The C's know we're the better club. Need to come out and eviscerate this flawed Bucks team

Tatum killed us boys. Idc about the pts. He wasted a ton of possessions.ime let jb sit way too long as well

I’d say rebounding killed them. They got out muscled.
rebounding was brutal tonight.  Ime needed to load that lane with rebounders during Giannis' FTs in case of a miss to prevent just what happened

We're not relying on a rebound if JT doesn't do a chappel Kobe impression for a number of possessions.

He has a lot of growing up to do
JT's iso first half is a big reason the Bucks were still in it at halftime.  his play this series has been seriously lacking.
Not really true at all, besides game 3 (where he was not alone). Asides from G3, he's averaged 29/7/6 on 43% from the field. The efficiency has been lacking, but we cannot win without him carrying the load on offence. That's just the way it is with the quarter-to-quarter inconsistency of those who surround him.
getting 29 pts a game inefficiently isn't helping them win.  12-29 with 2-11 from 3 to get 34 point is not something to be pointing to as a sign he's playing well
Except for the times in which we win, I suppose? We don't have many alternatives with how streaky Brown and Smart are. We only get one of those games by Al, and it would be unreasonable to expect any more. What are the options? Obviously I'd like it if we went more inside (which Tatum did in the second half, for good results), but Milwaukee don't just allow that with Giannis, Lopez and Portis.
the alternative is to pass the ball around for better shots instead of dribbling the air out of the ball to jack up a bad shot or taking quick 3's early in the shot clock.

he also supposedly had 0 rebounds in the second half.  that can't happen

Meh probably but they’ve been playing with more urgency without him…series would mostly be the same with him imo

They go to the hot bench guy but us not so much. Theis finally has a good game but only plays 11 minutes. PP was playing well and only got ten and Smart was barely making up the court and he just kept playing...
