I put it on Marcus. He is the PG and he blew too many positions down the stretch.

I think this loss is on the whole team, coach and everyone.  We can't give up 17 off rebounds against their size and expect to win.
That was the game right there.  The ISO ball hurt us as well.  We can't expect to attack the rim with one guy dribbling for 24 seconds.
Team loss...Ime gets a big share for not putting in Theis for the Giannis FTs

I predicted C’s in 7 but I’m not seeing it. I had assumed it’d be 3-2 Boston but down 3-2 going on the road for Game 6? Big ugh…

It ain't over yet. This team is not the smartest , but they are tough.

Anyone got any plausible reason for Grant playing ~3x as many minutes as Theis, despite playing so pathetically?

It’s called bad coaching, Gouki. Theis was having his best game of the series and the coach doesn’t know how to adjust the game plan.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Up 6 with less than 2 minutes left… for Giannis to hit a three and cough the lead up.

It shouldn’t have come down to that after building a decent lead. We started playing the clock instead of continuing to apply pressure.

This team has been resilient, hopefully they bunker down and rally around Smart to win the next one.

Just playing cute always leads to disaster.

Smart is the Master of cute...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Maybe we should revisit the Grant Williams extension thread. Anybody still want to give him $18M/yr?

There is no way he gets that.

No one’s bothered by #JKJB stealing the Giannis rebound from Smart?

Everyone’s blaming Marcus — but when he gets that board, the game is over.

Most important play of the game. Nobody?

Losing stings worse when they play dumb and don't do the fundamentals

I can't get over the hero, iso ball.

Almost as if JT was like "Jaylen got his in the third, I gotta get mine in the 4th"

One rebound off a missed free throw and they probably win

it is hard to lose 2 at home against a team like this and win a series lets be frank people

we had to win all home games against them a few years back

now we have to win two in milwaukee

Well, let's also be frank - if not for some reffing incompetence in game three we already would've won two in Milwaukee. We beat them down the stretch in one and in the other lost on some reffing incompetence and the go-ahead basket being .2 seconds late. We can absolutely beat them again - as long as we don't play boneheaded basketball like tonight.

Haven't you seen them all year long, playing boneheaded basketball on many occasions. It won't be the last. It's like they been playing boneheaded each game regardless W/L. Hold on to a dang double-digit lead for once. Don't let them evaporate the lead!

Grant Williams played 31 minutes.  He scored 0 points, had 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 4 fouls, was -11 and the primary guy he was guarding had 40 points in 27 shots with 59% shooting.

Yeah, it really is that simple sadly. Theis was absolutely punishing them inside and generating easy looks. Grant was terrible. Make the [dang] adjustment Ime

we kill ourselves every time

if bucks had middleton theyt would most likely crucify us

we shoulda beat this team

at least make them earn it

we play dumb ball

This series does make you wonder ...

Boston have looked so much more talented than Milwaukee but Giannis is keeping them in this. With Middleton? Would this series already be over?

If Middleton were healthy I would have picked the Bucks to win in 6 or 7.  I picked the C's to win in 7.

You also have to factor in Timelord's absence.  It doesn't cancel out Middleton's absence on paper, but we clearly need him for defensive and especially rebounding purposes.

Switch coaches and give the C’s Bud and the series would be over. Celtics win 4-1 or 4-2.
