Love how the Cs sign a "shooter" from the Grand Rapid Gold, then another guy on the team goes for 57 on 11-15 3PFG....

Ha.  We've still got an open roster spot!  Sign him up.

I'd love some Nik Stauskas.
Former lotto pick!

Russ Smith and Jordan McRae scored 60+ in the G-League.  They're probably available too.

I loved Russ Smith at Louisville. Always loved playing with guys like him and Tony Wroten on old 2K games, wishing they would actually amount to something in the league.

There has been a lot of complaints about the Celtics not signing a "real" NBA player off the buyout market.

Can someone please point me to the "real" NBA player that, and this is important, signed elsewhere and that would have realistically signed with the Celtics and, also important, that is having a positive effect on the team they signed with?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if you can say realistically would've signed can be proven one way or the other. There were a couple of players that might've helped but it was a pretty underwhelming buyout market this year.
Well, Tristan Thompson wasn't realistic. I don't think Dragic was either as he appears to be ring chasing in Brooklyn. Was Bembry realistic? He signed with the reigning champs who have an excellent shot to repeat and had a spot with more playing time available.

So this begs the question, what "real" NBA player would sign here if they know Udoka is most likely never going to use them?

I’d prefer proven NBA players that have had some success in the NBA. How about Abdel Nadar or Brad Wanamaker. Both have played in Boston already they are established players. James Ennis wouldn’t be bad either. These are proven NBA players, no G-leaguers.

Nader has been hurt all year and is likely out for the season.  Wanamaker has been terrible.

That said, I very much except the C’s to get such a veteran the last days of the season for the playoffs.  In the meanwhile, they’ll get some look at some G-Leagues to see if there’s a diamond in the rough.  Remember, they’re signing these guys to 10-days; there’s no commitment if it doesn’t work out.
If they aren’t on the team by Friday, they can’t play in the playoffs correct?

No, they can’t have been on any other team effective today or later.
C’s can someone for the playoffs up until the last day of the year.

So, did anyone get bought out that might help the Celtics. Team is in desperate need of shooting.
Personally, I’d still give IT a try, but there’s got to be someone available that can shoot.

I don't believe that there were any last minute buyouts that would be of interest.

I didn’t think so. Any thoughts on free agents available, or do we just hope someone on this roster steps up. It’s painful watching other teams with multiple players who can hit shots while the Celtics continue to miss wide open jumpers again and again

Anyone have a list or, even better, a link to a list of who is still available?

I've got a TP ready...and I'm not afraid to use it!

Lemme break this list down -- Top 5 guys who we should be considering (in order):

1) Cheick Diallo
2) Cheick Diallo
3) Cheick Diallo
4) Cheick Diallo
5) Cheick Diallo

I don’t see the appeal. He can’t shoot (28% from 3pt) and he’s not exactly tearing up the G-league, averaging only 16pts per game, which is 4th highest on the team.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

That's a lot of names...and a lot of garbage to sift through. Gotta assume that the recognizable names are no longer viable players, having floated thru various teams in the league.

I'm not sure if when I give u TPs ur total goes up or down....regardless thanks.

i echo the question above. when i checked diallo's stats i found a player who averaged in 5 seasons:
- 11.9 mpg
- 5.2 ppg
- 3.2 rpg
- 0.4 blocks
- 0.4 apg

i don't see how he is better than Al, TL, GW, or Theis. he would be the fifth c/pf on the team. well, i suppose he could take kornet's minutes.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I'm thrilled that the Sixers signed DeAndre Jordan. Doc is just stupid enough to play him in all the minutes Embiid is off the court, rather than the Sixers going small ball. I think this makes them easier to beat in the playoffs.
