In hindsight, if Ime didn’t use that challenge on the JB charge, he could have done so to contest the alleged goaltending call? Just one of those things.

Well, challenging that call was a poor decision.

Yeah, even Mannix and Gorman were sure it wouldn't get overturned and they are usually wrong.

JB gonna have to go all JB on the Spurs to win this.

Yeah, not so much. It ain’t a winning formula.
JB almost forced this game to OT by himself. He made it 97-95 on a layup. If not for a fantastic defensive play on the charge, he ties it up. After Smart's miss, he forces and gets the steal, gets fouled with a smack in the face, but refs call jump ball. He stole in the bounds and if not for a missed basket interference, this game is in OT.

Tough to be sour on JB the way he played at the end of that game.

On the plus side, I didn’t have to listen to Scal tonight.

Why do people hate Scal generally?

I quite like him. He's gotten a lot better and I dig his bants with Mike.

Scal is a thousand times better than Mannix. Tough to fill Tommy's shoes.

I like them both to be honest. Scal has improved a lot since his days when he was a comic sidekick to Kyle Draper and I think Mannix makes a lot of solid, well thought out points. I don't always agree with him but his thoughts usually have logic behind them, rather than just being made out of emotion. It's also good that he is able to fill in on really late notice, there were a few times he said he was sitting on his couch at home and got a call from NBC to cover for Mike or Scal to be the color commentator on 2 hours notice and showed up. I'd be freaking out if that was me  :police:

Just because you're wrong about something doesn't make it a poor decision.

It was a prayer, not a poor decision.

In the moment, it was the right thing to do. Final minute of play, etc.

Man, people crapping on Ime for the dumbest things.

That — and as I stated earlier, it took all the Ca momentum away. 5 minutes of standing around after they’d been getting turnovers and getting out on the break.

He’s gotten a bit better, but In the past he’s been super arrogant and condescending towards Abby and Chris Forsberg during the postgame show. To the point where it was uncomfortable to watch.

Oh, dang. I don't get postgame on league pass unfortunately :(

I'm stuck watching these bozos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKyAAxypP1k

(jk I love 'm)

They usually have the postgame show posted here as Well as interviews with players and coaches immediately following the game. Plus, Perk comes on and he cracks me Up. No filter on that one, just keeps it real.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Eh, that's almost an automatic challenge if you have it there in that situation, because charge calls are always bang bang and the slightest movement can offset a charge call. And it was an All-Star versus a no-namer in White, which usually favors the star player. Don't forget he has to make that decision in a split second.

I think it was a reasonable challenge in that scenario. Besides, it's not like Ime would've been able to challenge the last potential goaltending call anyways. He wouldn't have been able to call a timeout there, which is a prerequisite for the challenge. (Also, he's as bad as Brad at not calling the timeouts on end of game broken possessions that clearly need a timeout (e.g. the forced Smart layup with shotclock running down); highly doubtful he would've called a timeout there even if he had time.)
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I want Cedric Maxwell and Sean Grande to take over when Mike retires. They are a solid duo.

You’re confusing your love of Brown with the post itself. Any player “going all himself” is the opposite of what this team needs to win games. Tonite’s 4th quarter was just one more shining example of this.

Since there was no call made by the officials, I don't think Imd could have challenged it. Unless they changed the rules this year, you can only challenge a made call not a no-call.

Well, I won’t speak to the goaltend piece, I stand by my point about the timing. Just when the Cs we’re showing urgency and getting out and runnin’ a bit… they stood around for 5 mins.

It sure read like you were critiquing Brown going all Brown and not just any player trying to go all out by himself.

Also, I never meant it as Brown trying to singlehandedly do everything by himself, more like him putting the team on his back and doing all he can to make the team better and lead them to a win.

Which he almost did.

So I think we both kinda misinterpreted what the other was trying to say.
