Idea: JRich for Ingles straight up

Schroder and Juancho for Ingles.  I checked Utah's roster and I do not see a backup PG

Schroder would be a bad fit next to Jordan Clarkson. They are both score-first guards who are below average defenders. Not to mention, Mitchell is at his best when playing with the ball in his hands. He has played 54% of his minutes at PG this season. What they need is a (s)wing defender. Schroder is all about offense. Juancho probably has negative trade value.

Btw, this idea was posted by a Jazz fan. It seems like you guys think Utah would say no, but most Jazz fans were on board with it. Ingles is 34 years old. His defense isn't what it used to be.

No no…. Apparently YOU know better! Sorry, I’ll rephrase: I think it’s very unlikely that Utah trades Ingles. Their offense is absurd, hard to see them messing with it much.

No no…. Apparently YOU know better! Sorry, I’ll rephrase: I think it’s very unlikely that Utah trades Ingles. Their offense is absurd, hard to see them messing with it much.

and that would be the type of thinking that has teams never get over the hump.  Utah is very unlikely to beat Phoenix or Golden State, let alone worrying about Denver, the Lakers, the Clippers (they probably still have Paul George nightmares), Memphis, etc.  If they stand pat, they are a 2nd round loser at best.  They need to elevate their talent.

I don't see why Utah would do that.  The implication in the article is packaging Ingles + a 1st to get a better player, perhaps signed longer term, not to basically make a lateral move. 

Also, I don't see why Boston would do that.  What does a much older player on an expiring contract do?  There is after all a reason the C's signed Richardson to an extension. 

The value is probably about fair, but I just don't see why either team would do that.

I think Boston would jump on this. He's an adult, is a great team player, shoots the 3 very well, defends adequately, plus wouldn't you be getting his Bird rights?  I doubt that the Jazz would move on from him though, for  these reasons.

He is 34 and has declined across the board this year.  Richardson is quite simply a better player than him at this point (Richardson is even shooting it better) and he the gap is only going to get bigger.
