Ben Simmons is not worth much more than Marcus Smart and filler (Richardson, Fernado, Juancho) plus 1 or 2 first round picks.  Anything more than that is total BS and I would not take that if I was the Sixers either.    Thybelle can defend well, they already had Richardson and they already have nicer bench guys which tells me this is a big nothing burger.  I doubt we would trade Brown at all.  He has been better than Tatum this year.

Simmons value is no where near where Daryl Morey think it is folks.

Much rather make a move for Jerimi Grant, cheaper and would not have to give up as much and DET is bad.

Man the more I think about this trade the angrier I get.

We're a team with consistency issues. A team that lacks that grit and fire. Need someone that takes the lead, enforces, gets angry :D

And you're gonna get the shyest person ever to play in the NBA? :]]

Ok, he's shy, but at least he misses high pressure foul shots....Just where ya gonna get that?

Seeing here that Daryl Morey asked for JB, Smart, RWill, and a protected 1st. In return we'd get Danny Green and that lazy so-and-so of a Simmons.

Would love to see a source on that. It says the source is Shams Charania but I can't find it anywhere.

Like I said before D E L U S I O N A L.

They are basically saying he is untouchable.

“Daryl Morey asked for Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, and a protected first round pick to the Celtics in exchange for Ben Simmons and Danny Green. The Celtics hung up without saying any words”.

Yeah that's the one I was talking about.

Like, I can't source the quote. Maybe it's in an article behind a paywall or something, but it's not in Shams' tweets or grams.

This is a very realistic trade if you take out Brown, add Denis Schroeder,  Nesmith and or Romeo. Juancho as a filler and a first rounder. They may not be able to do much better.

Per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Simmons would be interested in playing for the Celtics if a deal can be worked with the Philadelphia 76ers for the three-time All-Star.

Send Smart and a bunch of scrubs…..lol…Get it done Brad. Simmons probably said that because he knows there is no way Sixers send him to Boston.

The main parts going to Philly in a trade for Simmons would be Smart and Richardson, neither of which can be traded right now. I think the earliest both of those guys could be used in tandem to trade for Simmons is January 25th

I'm fine waiting a couple of months on this type of deal.  wouldn't send more than Smart, Richardson and someone not in the rotation.  if Simmons doesn't play before then, his market value will be minimal so this type of package should be more than enough for Philly.  also, waiting until January gives mgmt a chance to see what holes need to be filled the most and if Simmons could theoretically solve a serious team issue.

Smart, Richardson, Grant, our overseas stashes, three #1s and two pick swaps.  Have them throw in Isaiah Joe and Paul Reed to balance the rosters.

That leaves us:

Horford / Timelord / Kanter
Simmons / Parker / Herangomez
Tatum / Nesmith
Brown / Langford
Schroder / Pritchard

It’s a pipe dream that Philly would trade within their division, but maybe Brad has some blackmail material.

If this is true, then I am at least interested.  Still not giving up Brown but I would at least talk to Philly.  To me, the most natural fit is to look at Smart and Richardson (even that doesn't match salary so there would need to be a little bit more).  But they cannot be traded until January.  Really, the only near term option is to somehow include Horford's salary to a third team (I assume Philly does not want Horford and vice versa).  Just don't see a deal here.

I think the real question is does Simmons make our def so much better that it offsets his offensive struggles and his huge contract?  Smart is still a heck of a defender who isn't afraid to show up in the playoffs.

do we become instant co-favorites in the east if we make this trade?  Honestly I am still not completely convinced.
