The Boston Celtics are reportedly among the teams that have expressed interest in trading for Ben Simmons.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the Sixers and Celtics have talked about a potential trade but there is "no traction" as of yet. It's expected the Sixers would require Jaylen Brown be part of any trade package for Simmons.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

Sounds like Morey has been talking to Shams. Classic attempt to use the media to boost trade value.

Stevens is not trading Brown. Just like many other teams will not trade high level assets for Simmons.

Edit: said that wrong. Teams aren’t trading young two-way all stars for Simmons, but they will trade good assets for him.

Not saying PHI would do it, but if you could acquire Simmons later in the season and you send out Smart + assets (not Jaylen and Tatum) would you consider it? I still wouldn't but it's an interesting thought especially if the situation gets worse and they are desperate for anything.

I’ll say it. If Stevens trades Jaylen for Simmons I will relinquish my Celtics fandom.

Luckily there’s no way that happens.

No way in hell am I trading Brown for Simmons.

Recently, Kendrick Perkins divulged that Danny Ainge previously called him in regards to James Harden.

"I remember last year around this time when teams were calling about James Harden and Houston actually wanted Jaylen Brown," Perkins said Friday on Celtics Pregame Live. "I was on the phone with Danny Ainge for an hour, and I remember how our conversation went. He was like, 'Hey, Perk, would you trade Jaylen Brown for James Harden?' And I was like, 'Danny, you know how I feel about Jaylen Brown, but I would trade him for James Harden.' He was like, ' Are you kidding me? He's not going anywhere. He's not even 25 and he keeps getting better.'

That’s how much Ainge valued Brown.

If Brown is included in any Simmons trade discussions you’ll know this is where Stevens and Ainge must greatly differ.

If Celtics were crazy enough to do this, the trade package would be sent by Sixers, not by Celtics, because the market value of Brown is greater than Simmons.

FYI I would not trade Brown, he is my favorite player.

This is hilarious. I’m sure the Sixers would love, love, love to get Brown for Simmons. If Brad does that trade I will eat a bug on YouTube.

Simmons doesn’t like the pressure of the playoffs and he can’t shoot! The Celtics would close the title window on Tatum and create a legit contender in Philly! Give them a 40% three point shooter, three level scorer and plus defender to put next to Embiid? No way no how:

Simmons might be a solid get for a team that needs a regular season draw and has no aspiration to go deep in the playoffs. But honestly, first, I’d like to know if he’s just done playing NBA ball. He’s earned enough that he never has to work again and he doesn’t seem to like the spotlight. Maybe he’s just done.

The Sixers will not get Brown in a package, Smart and others maybe, but Simmons is too far gone from their franchise to demand Brown, although, I believe to trade Smart, we'll need to wait a month or so.
