If I was GM, I would fire Ime right away. This is unacceptable

Fire Ime will not solve your roster problems

No, but it will solve the coaching problem.

Not unless they hire a better coach! haha

Smartacus is getting absolutely pilloried on NBATV with his press conference that has gone viral. Isiah and Candice Parker saying his finger pointing comments don’t bode well for the state of the Celtics locker room and maybe instead of complaining about how the Jays didn’t pass the ball to him, rather he should have focused on how the Cs let the Bulls score 39 points when they had a 19 point lead when he’s supposed to be the defensive leader.

Smart is suppose to be a team leader but....

He's not a team leader. He's going to be the second one shown the door after Ime.

Al is the clear team leader at this point.

So now Smart is publicly blaming Jaylen and Jayson for not passing the ball ??

He's probably right, about Tatum for sure, but obviously he is as guilty as they are.

What a mess. I thought Ime would have this team coming out of the gate playing defense with energy and moving the ball all over the place on offense, crashing the boards and pushing the break, with him very active on the sideline. I thought.

They may be missing Kemba's locker room presence, too.

It's a mess but last thing I'd care about is talking heads and their opinions. Even if it's some of the better talking heads.

WRONG…spoken like spoiled and entitled stars. Sharing the ball Spurs better defense. Standing in the corner to watch entitled stars throw up bricks just so you can run back on defense to get the ball back for these no passing stars again is no fun. NOT AFTER YOU HAVE MADE YOUR PAYDAY.

If Tatum refuses to pass he can go get the stops and rebounds himself.

It's going to be something the Cs are going to get asked over and over again...the media will make it into a narrative.

Where's the "Blow It Up" thread?

Team needs a new mix.  Deal everyone except Tatum.  Hell, if you can get Luka or Trae, deal Tatum, too.

it’s right here:

but i was called chicken little for even wanting to discuss it a mere 3-4 days ago.

I'd still like to see some unbaised visual evidence in that thread, btw.

You can't trade everyone. Not all our players would bring back an asset.  Some of our guys have little to none trade value.  The Nesmith, Romeo and Grant for Star X trades are beyond absurd.

Name one NBA team that has blown it this early in the season?

Last night was the first night in a long time that we had the whole team healthy.   We had the Bulls down quite a bit and then had a cold fourth killed us.   I think truth be told we are going to be around a .500 team given what we seen thus far.  New coach, new system and new players so we are a work in progress.   Still truly, great players, would have found a way to win.

As for Marcus, I doubt him getting the rock would have led us to the promised land.   I still think it is too early, not impressed with Udoka, though he should not be on the heat seat yet,  thus far.   Has the calling out trickled down to the players now with Marcus.

Personally, I would be happy to see Tatum play the game he did at the end of the season last year and could care less if he passes the ball.   That Tatum was an elite scorer.  Where is that guy?

We may have entered the era of malaise and doldrums for the near future .

Too many wrong people at the wrong time making to many important decisions for the wrong reasons sank the ship.

Huge corrections maybe necessary.

Our coach maybe lacking the very skill this group needs most …..very strong voice of leadership …….or start over with all new players .

we both know you’re being purposefully obtuse. you’ve seen plenty of evidence, including on this forum.

The Bulls starting PF was DeRozan, who is 6'6". The Celtics had a starting frontcourt that included Tatum, Horford, and Williams. Not only did the Bulls outrebound them 50-38, but the Celtics didn't really take advantage of any mismatches with their size by posting up down low. Tatum should have had a field day in the paint, and lived at the line as a result (he was 3-4 free throws).

This is the problem with our size. They do not create matchup advantages. They do not have the skill offensively to do so. And they are not versatile enough defensively to check smaller PFs like DeRozan who can cook them. So they create matchup disadvantages / weak points.

We gotta get away from this two big lineup.

It also creates a second problem with the lack of ball-handling, passing and shooting. The offense becomes too stagnant with the two bigs there, two scoring wings with so-so playmaking skills and a PG in Smart who is slow and unable to get dribble penetration. It creates an entire team dynamic where the team is deficient in speed, ball-handling and shooting.

The two big lineup is terrible for a starting unit. Especially with Smart at PG which only compounds the matter further.

the two-big lineup is also problematic because the c’s don’t have a single ball handler on the court with this personnel.

i would like to see ime implement three changes offensively:

1) start al and bring timelord off the bench for a burst of energy and stop switching everything to allow time-lord to be a rim protector for our smaller second unit

2) take advantage of our youth and lack of size and push the ball up court in a fast break offense with al as the trailer who can hit the top-of-the-key three; we should be a run first offense

3) run the half court offense through the bigs, instead of the j’s, in an inside-out style. al has a solid low post game and he’s a capable passer. al can also hit the three in high post action; rob would need a bit of work but he has good court vision and is already an above average passer (this might also serve to minimize the j’s iso predilections)

Saw this on Twitter and literally couldn't believe it.

Apparently the C's didn't have ANY defensive rebounds in the 4th quarter  :o
