When I watch the play, it seems to be clearly an intentional elbow from Siakim.  Happened right after Embiid dunked and did his airplane.  The funny part is the refs initially called the foul on Embiid's face and on review only changed it to an offensive foul on Siakim.  One of the easiest flagrant calls I've seen. 

Start at 35 seconds for the Embiid dunk.  Then Siakim leads with his elbows on his drive for the layup and doesn't even make the shot attempt until after he's elbowed Embiid.

Agree with that but I can understand why Doc would have some concerns.  If there is a team that could blow a 30pt lead with 4 minutes left, it's the Sixers without Embiid on the court.

If Embiid had done that, he'd have gotten the death penalty but Siakim didn't even get a flagrant one.

Edit:  Siakim may just want to skip their games in Philly next season.

I would recommend watching some of his highlights. A lot of the time when he's driving he uses his elbows to hook people under their arm, or pushes off with his forearm and elbow raised. I have long thought he plays a very reckless style of basketball.

Given the injury he caused and potential injury such a motion could cause in general, he ought to be punished

I was actually shocked to see no one making a big deal about that shot Embiid took btw. I saw the highlight of it too. I mean Embiid himself basically implied he was hurt after the game but no one seemed to ask him much about it and acted like nothing happened. Then all of a sudden we find this out tonight, and it really was serious (mild concussion, orbital fracture).

Yes, I think that would be proper. I mean that was a blatant elbow to the face. On the other hand, why was Embiid even on the floor with Philly up big with 4 minutes to play? Doc is gonna get a lot of flak for that for sure.

Guess it didn't seem intentional to me. It looks like a classic Siakim play:  awkward movement with limbs flailing that seems more like a travel than anything else.
