Lanford with 7 pts and +13 in 16 minutes. Pretty decent. Hopefully he'll get more playing time as he progress with the spurs

Yeah, Langford and Richardson both had good games last night.
yup, Langford's no bust as was proclaimed by several of the Immediate Gratification crowd around here.  I have little doubt he's going to blossom in SA under Pop.

Curious to see how this trade plays out this year (provided Romeo stays healthy) and next after SA uses the pick in this draft.  If JRich is still in SA next year, I seriously suspect that trade is going to look really lopsided in SA's favor.

He's not a bust but hasn't performed like a lotto pick either. He needed a change of scenery. He couldn't do any better than to play for Pop. I wish him the best.
looked to be engaged when he played.   wouldn't say he was aggressive enough on offense but our offense was a mess for most of the season.

You guys gave Langford the evil eye. He’s out hurt again lol. This guy can’t stay healthy. He’s absolutely a bust.

I don't see Pop sticking around for much longer, and definitely not for long enough to turn Romeo around.

a. Romeo doesn't need to be turned around.  he's already been heading in the right direction.
b. Pop isn't rumored to be retiring at the end of this season or next.  I'm anticipating Romeo to be looking pretty solid by the end of the season (if he stays healthy) and looking like a real rotation player next season.

And what direction is that? A wing who can't shoot, score or pass?

Sorry, an injury-prone wing who can't shoot, score or pass. He's already injured again

Yeah. I think he could still improve but I’m glad he’s not our problem. Definitely a disappointing result from a lottery pick, and I was happy with the selection when he was drafted. He simply hasn’t been remotely close to the player that was advertised.

Langford made his Spurs debut Monday against the Lakers, playing 17 minutes and posting seven points and one rebound. However, he suffered a strained hamstring in the process and will head back to the sidelines.

Can't catch a break. But hey Steph Curry was injury prone earlier in his career I guess?

Tell me you just did not go there?

Steph his first three seasons played 80, 74, then 26 games averaging 14.7/5.3/3.4 on shooting splits of 49/45.5/80 his 3rd season with a 60.5 TS%

Romeo this far played 32,18,45 in three seasons averaging 4.8/0.4/2.3 on shooting splits of 43.6/34.9/58.8 with a 52.3 TS%

Steph missed 75% of one season, but was otherwise healthy and really good  Romeo missed major portions to most of 3 seasons and was generally bad.

Not a good comparison.

There’s a guy in Philly who’s having an MVP-caliber season.  I guess you can argue he’s not over his injuries, but playing 75% of regular season games at the level he plays at is far different from missing his first two years and only getting in 31 games in the third.

The injuries are the big killer.  Otherwise, I guess you would hope that he turns into a Thabo Sefolosha.  Thabo was never a scorer or a passer, and his shooting was bad for several years, but he carved out a long career.

Good point about Embiid, TP both. Was thinking of guards/wings.

Makes sense. If you can't take a beating you probably won't make the NBA. Unless you're uber talented like Embiid and people are patient with you.

Or you just deteriorate like Grant Hill.
