At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

It would be a shame if they don’t match up in the playoffs

Embiid with 9 FT attempts in less than 9 minutes. I like our chances against Philly if it’s 5 on 5 but not at the 8 on 5 that it’ll be.

It would be amazing if fans voted on playoff match-up each round.

Hope so. This game is nuts right now. Philly fans chanting “F U Simmons”

Just tuning into Philly/Brooklyn. Is it chippy? Are Harden/Embiid pulling their normal choking fest?

Yes.

Mostly.

With a side of Kyrie still not missing.

Harden certainly is, 1 for 11 shooting. And Durant and Harden can’t miss. I dont think Philly’s D is very imposing this year. Without Embiid getting sucked off by the refs and getting 12 FTs in 11 minutes it’d be over already.

Have to say, I think we're a much better matchup against Brooklyn than Philly is. They really only have Thybulle to make it tough on Irving and Durant, yet he's kind of a bad size for either of them, being too slow to guard Kyrie and too small to guard Durant. Other than that, they're guarding their stars with average to below average defenders.

The C's, on the other hand, have a half dozen excellent defenders in Smart, White, Brown, Tatum, Al, and Timelord that are capable of switching on and off of Irving and Durant. And that's on top of an even stauncher team defense.

Both these teams have people over-closing and flying around contesting every pump-fake, leading to open jumpers. It looks like the way Rob and the Jays played D two years ago. You can do that against Philly. You can't do that against Brooklyn.

Embiid is going to have something like 20 free throws at the half. Ridiculous.

Harden now 3rd all time in 3 pointers made.  Probably 2 seasons away from Allen for 2nd.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

Checking the box score of Philly-Brooklyn and it looks like both Harden and Simmons skipped this one.

Wow. Harden just looks futile out there. Clearly feeling the pressure. Got a feeling this team may get exposed in the playoffs.
