I hate typing this. But Lebron has had a pretty impressive last 5 minutes. That being said Lakers at home in a battle with rockets. They really got to replace howard and Jordan with some younger players. They look like the starters in nba2k when a player refuses to use his bench.
They just need to suck it up and start Davis at center and Lebron at PF. Howard/Jordan are fine as a backup center in the 15-20 mpg range (combined). They just need to go Davis, Lebron, Russ, Bazemore, and then Monk or Bradley. I like Melo as offense off the bench for them. They just need Davis to put his big boy pants on and play center.
I do not see this as an AD problem.
I view this as a Frank Vogel problem. He is a one trick pony. He is only a good coach when he can play big ball. It is all he knows how to do. Like Mike D'Antoni and how he can only coach small-ball. They are both train wrecks whenever they are asked to do something different.
Vogel has to go against every natural instinct he possesses to go away from old-school big defensive lineups. He can't do it.
LA should have fired Vogel the minute they traded for Westbrook. He was never going to be able to coach that team. The same way NY should have fired D'Antoni the moment they traded for Melo. Instead they waited, wasted however much time it was before eventually figuring out Mike Woodson would do a much better job and Woodson was nothing more than an average coach. Same situation with Vogel.
A one trick pony who immediately becomes one of the worst coaches in the league when he does not have a roster to suit his one trick coaching style.
