Seems like OKC is only built to stop the Lakers lol. Both their only wins came against them.

They can't stop Dort.

Yup

Jazz's best player isn't good enough for them to be a real contender.  Fluke year like the Suns last year, then maybe, but a normal year not at all.

You can’t win a championship when your best player is a small guard. Not anymore.
any more?  There has been 1 championship in over 30 years where the team's best player was a small guard (2 if you count Wade as a small guard and think he was better than Shaq).

What about the Pistons? Wasn’t Chauncey Billups the best player on that team. It was rare, but possible to win like that in the past. I don’t see it happening again.
I've always considered Ben Wallace their best player.  Chauncey really didn't ascend to that level until a couple of seasons later, though Chauncey did win the Finals MVP.  And that matches things like All NBA Teams, MVP votes, all star appearances, etc.  During that title season Wallace finished 7th in MVP voting, was 2nd Team All NBA, 1st Team All Defense, made his 2nd straight all star team, and it was the middle season in between his 4 DPOY.  Chauncey didn't make his first All Defense until the next season, and his first All NBA, all star team, or receive MVP votes until 2 seasons after the title.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Knicks defense is so bad. Has to be keeping Thibbs up at night.  :-X

Also, really wish the C’s made a move for Grayson Allen. He playing very well for the Bucks.

Vin Baker is an assistant coach for the Bucks. 4th year with them.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Man the clippers lack depth and look mediocre. They obviously miss leonard, but with ibaka and Morris not playing they really just don’t have much talent. Bledsoe is completely washed. Batum should probably not be a starter. They have Hartenstein and zunac as their bigs right now.

They gave up 98 points and beat the bucks?

When I wrote that they were down by 20 and gave up like 38 pts in the first quarter. Kemba and Fournier barely got any playing time in the second half. Fournier finished with 25mins played and Kemba was at 15 mins. You don’t play D, you don’t play. That’s the Thibbs way.

The Kings won by 30 while Bagley was a DNP-CD.  They have completely buried him at this point.

There's always a lot of noise early in the season, as players adjust to one another and ramp up to a higher level of performance from the summer.

So far the Knicks have sucked at defense (109.1 pts/poss, which is 21st in the league), but they were 3rd last year. They badly needed to up their shot-creation, so the additions of Kemba and Evan made a lot of sense; those guys have defensive issues but I'd still predict a top-10 finish for New York in defense.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

MPJ missed a wide open lay up and was seen clutching his left quad. He was then ruled out for the rest of the game with lower back soreness. That’s scary considering Denver just gave him a huge payday. Add to that, he fell in the draft because of that back injury concern. Hope he’ll be fine. He’s a fine NBA talent when healthy.

Their starters only tallied for 24 points tonight? All single-digits too? Wow what happened lol

Siakam is back and he's playing at the 5 for the Raps vs the Nets.

PG: FVV
SG: Trent Jr.
SF: Anunoby
PF: Scottie Barnes
C: Siakam

I'm intrigued to see how it works out for them. Hope it doesn't work, cause I want us to trade for Siakam. :P Fwiw, he played 18% of his minutes at Center last season.
