Are magic and pistons only real bad teams in East?

The Pacers don't look good so far.

They are missing two of their best players in Levert and TJ Warren though. Levert should be back tomorrow.

Granted.
Cunningham hasn't played for the Pistons yet either.

The only thing I think that is given is Oklahoma City is the worst team in the sport.  They are horrid.  They might legitimately have a shot at single digit wins, which makes the Lakers game with them yesterday even more astonishing.

Too early to tell with anyone else.  I mean the Suns are 1-3 as are the Clippers (though obviously without Kawhi they are a different team).  The Nets and Lakers are below .500.  The Wolves are 3-1.

I think the Spurs and rockets are gonna be really bad also. Not sure the status of Zion, but Pelicans look real bad without him also. Definitely possibly 4 of the worst 5 teams ends up being in the west.
Not a chance.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Elaborate? You think rockets and spurs are gonna be competitive? You down on Cleveland’s early start? I could very well have been wrong on Cleveland myself.

I’m generally really happy with the evolution of discussing mental health in pro sports the last 5 years. So i want to just take what Simmons is saying at face value. That being said the way this has played out has made that really difficult to do. He had about 4 different problems with Philly his agent stated, then they started fining him left and right and this story emerged. If this is is real I hope he finds some peace.

Both these teams have new players but everyone looks like they know what they are supposed to be doing out there.

Don’t break your 20 game rule, wherever you got it from…lol

Agreed.

Must be rough though, in a league where there's so many guys that play through so much adversity ... being the one that doesn't play ball, really makes him stand out. In a bad way. Regardless if he's doing the best he can. (given the circumstances and his mental state)

The tat is so well placed.

Do you build the muscle before the tat or after the tat …..asking for a friend.

competitive no, but better than the Magic and Pistons I think.  If I was going from the bottom up, I think it will look something like Thunder, Magic, Pistons, Rockets, Spurs, Cavs as the bottom 6 over the course of the season.  Maybe the Cavs are actually decent, but some other team will end up there and probably from the East as historically the bottom is generally 3 per conference in the bottom 6 (or 7 every so often).  The bottom and the very top tend to even out record wise year after year, it is the middle where there are a lot more variances in records and depth.  Overall, I believe the West is still the deeper and better conference, that will bear out over the course of the season, but the bottom is going to be the bottom.

I have them as a low 20's win team.  There will be games where Porter or Green explodes and Wood is good enough to keep them in most games.  The Thunder are so young (and not even high draft pick young) that winning 10 will be a struggle.  They pretty clearly seem like the worst team in the league.

Knicks got a strange offensive team. They have one clear dependable scorer in Randle and then a hodge-podge mix of guys where they look for some combination of 2-3 of 6 players to step up and give Randle some help game to game.

D-Rose or Kemba (PGs)
Barrett or Fournier (starting wings)
Quickley or Burks (backup wings)

You never know where the offense is going to come from but they got so many capable 10-15ppg threats that they will usually find enough somewhere to be a threat.

And Obbi Toppin might give them a 7th guy (after Randle) if he continues to improve. Leaving only the two defensive minded bigs of Mitchell Robinson and Noel as non-scorers. Everyone else there is capable of taking 10 FGAs a night and putting points on the board.

Welp they are keeping John walk away from their team in a pretty transparent tanking effort and have lost all games by double digits except their win over OKC. They lost by 30 last night in a game that was never competitive. I have no clue on what the spurs are doing. Maybe pops will drag them to some extra wins but that would be pretty awful for a team with no high end prospects. Pelicans also seem to be flirting with disaster with this Zion injury. The early season projections of the East being deep have certainly played out so far with wizards, cavs, knicks and bulls all playing surprisingly well.

Oh the Rockets are bad, low 20's wins isn't a good team, I just don't think they are 10 win bad.  That is the Thunder.  They are 10 win team type bad.
