After a day off I think I am all ready to go.   Interesting position to be in with two straight picks and a good idea where other rosters are at.   Making a lot of guesses over 20 picks between these two and my last one of the week tomorrow.

Klay was a guy I couldn't decide on where to value. He could have been a smooth fit next to Luka and LaVine. Imagine trying to double off of Luka with those two shooters? Yikes.

That would have been filthy, I'm glad that you didn't pick him lol.

Anyone in the 4th round that might want to trade back into the 5th round for and exchange of lower round picks, send we a PM and let's talk.

Open to trading down in the 4th to get a higher 5th round pick (and a bit more in something like the 7th round).

The Klay dilemma was also driving me bananas and will have me second-guessing for a while. I ended up oddly going with Roy's thought process on picking Klay that early, despite amazing fits, meant I likely would be taken out of the running -- of course I may have done that anyways with an even riskier pick  ;D

At the end of the day, my gut is that Klay will return to where he was but it's hard to make the argument directly in this format.

After seeing KD come back from an Achilles the way that he did, I’d be shocked if Klay didn’t do the same. Not in any way saying that Klay is KD, but he’s a hardworking humble guy who’s hungry to get back on the court, and doesn’t rely on his athleticism.

Even if Klay comes back a step slow, he’s still an elite all time great shooter. Worst case scenario he goes from an incredible defender to a slightly above average defender. I’ll take my chances, I think Klay comes back and has a monster year.

Yeah, Klay just has a back to back injury situation so it's a little different but I agree he should be fine.

How are you thinking about ball movement and distribution? Your best passer and point guard by far is your center, and I see you've got Mitchell formally slotted as a PG in your signature. It'll be fun to figure that puzzle out -- whether you want to have Jokic be essentially a full-time point guard, if you trust Mitchell to run the offense, or if you're planning on solving that problem later.

I agree.  Considering the players available at the end of the 3rd round, I don't see anyone that you should have clearly chosen over Klay.  Now if you had picked on time I would have gone with Jrue.

If anyone has time on their hands and a good heart, now would be a good time to start a roster thread.

I currently missing one of those two criteria.   I will let you guess which one it is.

Like switch mentioned, it’s unfortunately not the same.  He’s missed two full seasons, and will miss part of a third.  He’s dealing with two major injuries, an ACL and an Achilles.

Hopefully there are no long-term side effects, but we just don’t know that for certain. If he’s a step slower on offense, that means he has a tougher time getting open. If he can’t move the same on defense, I think that the downside is a lot lower than above average.

It sounds like you have a pretty sympathetic crowd here, so it may not affect you in the voting as much as I expected. I know for myself, however, I just have no certainty about where he is going to end up next year.

But ultimately, you ended up with a guy it was a lot of fun to root for, and if he’s healthy he’s a steal.

I'm already in the long wait mode but I'm quite happy with my back-to-back picks.   With Tatum and George, you've got a great 2-way core to build around.  It will be interesting to see what you focus on for the next two picks.

I do feel that the heights he was at prior to his injury (All-NBA calibre wing imo) do make it easier to envision him still being a high impact player next year even after two devastating injuries.
