With the 7th pick in Round 4, the San Antonio Spurs select:

Brandon Ingram
Was wondering when he'd go, finally! Ingram and Brown on the same team has a nice aspect to it with their draft class and career development. Really fun duo

He was another I was considering alongside Collins. Was hovering around 50/40/90, stepped up in the playoffs, made strides as a passer and showed what he can do with less shooting of the ball. I like him

Ingram is interesting to me.  Excellent stats, but I'd like to see him perform in the playoffs at some point.  So far, his production hasn't translated into winning.  But, that's true of a lot of guys.

Nice pickup.  One of my 4 draft binkies over the last decade.

He's an interesting case. Obvious talent, especially with his scoring and passing. Not a good defender, but next to Jrue and Jaylen that will be covered. His strong shooting will open things up for them, but you are right, his teams have often sucked.

However, I give him the benefit of the doubt given the roster construction of some of the teams

He is surrounded by winners on this team so I think he will contribute to winning. He hasn't really had any type of good team around him since taking his game to another level the past two years. I needed more scoring, he fits the bill. Also love his size and length. It hides some of his defensive deficiencies.

Huh. This was unexpected. I had decided on this guy for my pick in the last round (early 3rd) before Gobert unexpectedly dropped so I am quite happy to take him now (late 4th).

Knicks take CJ McCollum.

I'll be honest, I've never been particularly high on McCollum. He's a great scorer, but after that... eh. Bit of a tweener. Not really a good enough playmaker to be a lead guard, but lacks the size and defense to defend shooting guards. He needs to very specific type of guard next to him to reach his potential, and idk if LaVine is that imo.

I like it. Luka on the ball as creator with two big guns on his side. Both guys are elite shooters and high level individual creators as well.

A part I really like is all three can not only shoot the three but hit a long three 3-4 feet behind the regular line + they can all shoot pull up & step back 3s off the dribble on PnRs. Extra spacing with those long 3s & major threat to slow footed drop coverage big men (like my man Gobert).

I echo this. I didn't even consider him. Doesn't mean he isn't a good 4th round pick, just not my type of player

Over the last two seasons McCollum's playmaking has made some real concrete improvements, as well as improving his three point shooting both in terms of volume and percentage. He's definitely not a great defender, but as an off-ball scoring threat with Luka finding him I like it. Luka is a top 4 passer in the league with Harden, Young and LeBron - those guys find open players.

Yes, but Luka is.

I am the same as you as with CJ McCollum. I have not been particularly high on him throughout his career. Lower than most I expect. Too small and weak defensively to be a SG and too limited a floor general / playmaker to be a lead guard.

On this fantasy game though, I feel he is a great fit next to a big playmaking wing such as my guy Luka or James Harden or LeBron James. Someone that can be that lead guard and take on those PG responsibilities on offense and allow CJ to concentrate on being a scorer ... while also letting him defend PGs who CJ can defend reasonably well (unlike bigger SGs).

So on offense

PG: Luka Doncic
SG: CJ McCollum
SG: Zach LaVine

On defense

PG: CJ McCollum
SG: Zach LaVine
SF: Luka Doncic
