I mean are we even going to use the MLE on anyone?  Is something else coming from the other trade?
I mean player after player on small contracts for decent deals for almost every team but ours.

It seems like the vet out there got the word that the Celtics aren't doing anything this year, so they all decided it wasn't worth it to go to Boston.
Or BS is intentionally not signing anyone.

We have to hold Yam's spot open for him.

Sounds like we’re comfortable with Smart as our starting PG.

Hopefully this means we’re looking for a stopgap and/or long-time starter at PF. Maybe there are legs to the talk around us sniffing around Bagley (likely) or even Collins (less likely).

Bagley may actually be the best route to take a chance on if we can get him for a reasonable price, given that we can essentially cut him/not resign him the following year (I believe) if the Beal/free agent thing actually happens next summer.

Has there been any reports linking us to Bagley? I've only seen speculation around here and on Reddit, but I can't find the report.

Is Bagley an upgrade over Jabari Parker?  I doubt it.

That's a fair question. I'm just wondering though if this is something that is actually in the works, or if people are jumping to conclusions because the Kings/Hawks trade has been delayed.

maybe all this 'flexibility' has been a smokescreen and Brad is really setting up a deal for Ben Simmons.
I haven't heard Simmons name in many rumors.

yes this is a sarcastic post.

Probably not by much.  For Jabari's contract, if he can even improve a little bit this year, get more comfortable in his role no reason not to keep him.
I mean no one wants to play here anyway, well except for Yam Madar.

No one has been offered any money to play here. The Celtics management is sitting this season out. Like last year. It's the annual sit-out for next year's fireworks. It's become a tradition.

To be fair, Fournier wanted to play in Boston and Cs told him no. So there’s that.

Someone may need to tell them they need to pay players in order to get them to sign.

I really do not like Melo on that Lakers team. They have enough ball-happy shot-happy players already with Westbrook, LeBron and AD.

You don't want any of those guys taking a backseat to selfish Melo.

Patty Mills signed with Brooklyn over the Lakers

Marc Stein
Patty Mills chooses the Nets over the Lakers, @espn says
This is a great signing for the Nets. Fills in nicely for when Kyrie will go MIA for a few months saging around Brooklyn.

If it's detrimental to their team, then please, gladly ruin that team!

Olympic Melo will be back! This is probably his best chance at winning a title.

Have any other teams not made a free agent signing aside from us?  It feels like it’s just us — maybe Memphis?  Wolves?  Good company.

Memphis, Wolves, and Magic are the only other teams that haven't made moves.

The Magic just signed Robin Lopez.  We’re in the bottom three now.

Jesus. They have Wendell Carter and Mo Bamba ...

DEVELOP YOUR YOUNG PLAYERS!!!!

God, I hate how Orlando is run.

Patty Mills is a fantastic signing for Brooklyn.

Exactly the type of shooter, speedy ball-handler that will cause nightmares for opponents playing off of their Big Three.

Lethal offense.
