Per John Hollinger:  Double sign and trade between Hornets and Pels could be in the works sending Lonzo Ball to Charlotte to play with his bro, and Devontae Graham to Pelicans.

That’ll make Terry Rozier happy…

Lavar would surely freak out if this happens. Charlotte better be ready to deal with his antics.

wow!!! Doesn’t make sense for either team…Zion can’t be too happy..Hornets needs to sign the other Ball brother to have a triple Ball threat
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

This makes zero sense.  Neither can shoot at a high level.  Weird.  Just makes me think that they are  showing teams they are going to get something back for Ball so they want a bidding war.

Don't LaMelo and Lonzo play the same position?  Even if they move Rozier, it still seems redundant at PG.  For NOP, they would be trading their starting PG for a player who probably should be a back up PG.  This doesn't make sense.

Going to make his job of getting his sons back to LA by "willing it into existence" even tougher.

For New Orleans it could make sense if Devonte Graham cost substantially less than Ball.  If Graham is in the $10-12 million range, they would have a lot of cap space next year, which they could look to take advantage of to recruit a player who wants to play with Zion and whom Zion wants to play with, before Zion's extension kicks in and they're out of space.  If Ball is $20-$25 million as he seems like he might get, that would significantly inhibit NOP's ability to make such a move next summer.

For Charlotte, I guess they'd want to go all-in on the Ball family.  Which, no thank you, but have fun Hayward and Rozier.

They are both PGs but while LaMelo is more of an off the dribble creator Lonzo is more of a connecting piece ball mover. If this trade was to happen I could see the logic of starting a Ball backcourt with Hayward, Washington, and Plumlee. Then having Rozier and Bridges off the bench. Great on paper but I doubt Bridges or Rozier are going to handle a bench role well.

There still is smoke with Lonzo to the Celtics. Sounds like it would be something like Smart and Dunn for Lonzo. I would hate to see Smart on another team but the personnel match between Lonzo, Brown and Tatum is perfect.

I don't recall reading this or it being discussed lately: what is our status with Jabari Parker? We still own his rights, $2.3M non-guaranteed, and we can cut him at any time with no repercussions?

$100k of his salary became guaranteed when he was not cut by yesterday.  Half of his salary becomes guaranteed if he makes it out of training camp.

I could see the intrigue of the two brothers together.

Edit:

Hollinger has revised to say that Lonzo would be redirected to another team, not Charlotte.

Update on my update: Could very well be Lonzo and Graham in double sign-and-trade, but *NOT* with Lonzo Ball going to Charlotte. Bulls remain very much in play for Ball. Could end up a very complex transaction if this happens.
