I’d  honestly rather not sign anyone if they are looking at this guys lol. How underwhelming. Cs certified 8 seed this season since ownership is penny pinching.

Jeff Green was given lots of credit as the glue that held the Brooklyn locker-room together. Would be a good add

How on earth is it better to play Jabari Parker / Grant Williams than quality role-players like Green or Gay??

This bit of complaining feels excessive.  Such a player is not mutually exclusive with Fournier.  Without a significant salary dump (which you seem against) the Celtics can add free agents via the taxpayer mid-level and minimum salaries — that’s just the rules.

Because both of those guys are literally ancient and literally targets because they are one year stop gaps?

You're overusing the word literally a bit. Who cares how old they are, they're better players than what we have. How is it that we're adding better players yet, by your logic, regressing to the 8 seed? Explain that one to me.

Also, short-term contracts in order to have the flexibility to pursue a max FA in the next off-season is a totally valid route

Because Jeff Green was born to cause Celtics fans pain. That’s why.

I don’t see how losing a better player in Fournier to sign Jeff effing Green makes the Cs a better team. Cs were a borderline playoff team last year. We think losing better players and signing one year washed up vets is the answer??? This is nothing more than ownership penny pinching and not wanting to go over the luxury tax for second straight year.

My understanding from Himmelsbach's article is that the Celtics will use the taxpayer exception to sign one of those guys (Green, Gay, and Brown).

Even at the tail end of their careers Green and Gay are both capable of being top 8/9 guys in a playoff rotation. Without a consistent 3pt shot Grant is no better then an injury/foul trouble emergency fill in bottom of the bench role player. Parker’s defense makes him pretty much in playable in a playoff series.

Can’t read the article — who’s Brown?  Bruce?
