Moses Brown trade irritating

 Let me explain why. Listening to an OKC thunder podcast and the guy doing the video was a rational fan, explaining he did think moses was the starter this year and possibly down the road, and was genuinely surprised they traded him.

 Also said he was a monster on the boards with solid upside. All good things to hear.

 The issue here is that all the years we have had no size or severely undersized bigs. Not one time Danny couldn't find an under the radar big who had legit size and was a borderline starting center or Good back up?

 This was a very telling trade IMO, for  Brad's first trade. I think he addressed one of his biggest frustrations as the coach.

All signs point to this trade was in the works for a while since Ainge was a GM, so I wouldn’t just go off saying this is finally Brad getting a big man with size. It’s not like Ainge has not gotten centers with size in the past like Aaron Baynes.

Jury is out as to whether Moses is borderline starting center, or even a good back up. I hope he develops into becoming that, but I am skeptical, despite his monster game vs us this past season.  Really struggles rotating on defense, seems to have poor hands too.  Weak lower body, and very long legs makes it difficult for him to hold his ground on defense.  Bad foul shooter.  Sorry to be so negative, I just think we have to manage expectations with this guy.

Sure, but if that's the case, then why do we expect Moses Brown to be much better than Monroe in an even more modern NBA game?

IMO they are vastly different types of players as Monroe’s weaknesses outweighed his strengths where as Moses looks to be the opposite. Long athletic defensive minded centres still hold value in today’s NBA. In saying that watching clips of Moses, I doubt he’ll contribute much next season for the Celtics outside of the G-League, as he is still extremely raw and would be a foul machine if he played important nba minutes (there’s a reason he went undrafted).

If healthy, Rob is the third member of our big three. The team is just much better when he’s out there.
