Luka Garza at #45, Big, wide bodied, good offensive rebounder, good shooter, 6'10" bare foot,  7'1.5" wingspan.
I love my guy Garza, but we have a plethora of 5s now. Probably not the way we go

Can't he play 4?
I think he might lack the footspeed to play the modern 4, but I’ve heard reports he’s lost a lot of weight - could be quicker now. Have yet to see any footage of slim Garza

It’s not just the lack of footspeed that’ll keep him from the four.  It’s the complete lack of anything resembling distinctive instincts.

He could be a #3 big who you put in if you just need some scoring, and hope the other team takes a few possessions to realize they need to hunt him when he’s on defense, but I don’t think he’ll ever become even below average on defense.

ESPN has us taking Rokas Jokubaitis, a 6'4" point guard out of Lithuania, with the 45th pick.  He reminds me of Goran Dragic, but more of a distributor.

Fran Fraschilla, who is an overseas draft expert, is pretty high on this kid, who is 19 years old.  Below is some video.

I saw a recent mock that had Boston taking Boston from Kentucky.  Seems legit to me....

another second round PG?  I know we need a better starting PG than Smart but I think we'd look to fill another position in all likelihood

Garza's ceiling is likely Kanter, like Kanter he lost weight in an attempt to move better defending the P&R but like Kanter I cant imagine he ever has the foot-speed to not be exploited in high leverage situations (playoffs).

I think he's an end-of-the-first-round talent that is a really good pick anywhere in the second round.

I watched that  video and I see a guy who has to pass because he can't get his shot off.   Still it was better competition than what Yam plays in.  I would have to watch more stuff.

That video emphasizes his passing skills, celtics4ever.  Check out some video showing his scoring and shooting prowess.  He has really good numbers, too. (I think this video is from a year ago; having trouble finding more recent film)

I feel like his ability to shoot the 3 makes his ceiling considerably higher than Kanter's, but in all likelihood I think he'll end up as a Mo Speights type bench big.

Which is still handy at 45, but probably not what we need

It also showed he may struggle to get his shot off on NBA level players.  Highlights are highlights. I will check out some more vids as I said I need to see more.

How so? The mid-range jumper in the pick & roll is a pretty good shot for modern NBA point guards to have, as it's usually pretty open in modern defences. He's also a good shooter on catch-and-shoot 3s, which is an important skill.
