I think there will be a bunch of debate on guys to take at #45, but think the pick will be just another guy that might, get a look as a two way player. Might. Maybe. Possibly.

I see no way that the guy they choose will be on the 15 man roster at any time soon.

#45 as a 2-way only would be rather surprising.  Quick research showed that only 3 players picked in the 40s in the last 3 drafts were signed to 2-ways, and only one was as high as #45 (Bol Bol at #44 in 2019).  2-ways are typically given to picks in the 50s and undrafted players.

Picks in the mid-40s and earlier get guaranteed contracts or are international draft-and-stashes, with very limited exception.

ESPN has us taking Rokas Jokubaitis, a 6'4" point guard out of Lithuania, with the 45th pick.  He reminds me of Goran Dragic, but more of a distributor.

Fran Fraschilla, who is an overseas draft expert, is pretty high on this kid, who is 19 years old.  Below is some video.

I would really like this pick but he could go a few spots higher.  I hope the C's can buy a early 2nd and pick up someone like Cooper, Nix, Bagley, Robinson-Earl, McCulough.  Jokubaitis and one of the above would be great.  Stash Jokubaitis and the other spot can replace one of Tacko or Waters.

Ive been leaning towards him as a priority UDFA for a team to lock into a two way but reading that Yves Pons is shooting the ball well at the combine is unjustifiably pushing me to want him at #45. Their will likely be heigher ceiling and higher floor players available but I have had this Pons to the Cs thing going on since last draft.

He may grow into the perfect Semi replacement. He is an absolute elite athlete with great length and timing as an undersized rim protector. With any sort of 3pt shot he could be a valuable playoff specialist to defend the elite super sized stars like Giannis or KD.

Pons is an exciting player but definitely a project. He might be able to carve out some energy minutes early but he has a lot of work to do.

Watch the passes in that video  he was driving to the hole,  then had to pass in several occasions.   It happens to everyone, I think someone said it was an older video.  I remember the first time, I tried a high school move on a D1 guy in a game, I had to adjust some things as everyone does when you move up a level.  Just an observation,  most think he is a steal at that pick.

Hyland is looking good today and Kessler Edwards can defend.

Interesting post from Michael Scotto (Hoopshype, USA Today)

“Scottie Barnes, a projected high lottery pick in this year's NBA Draft, said he's interviewed with several teams, including the Pistons, Raptors, Magic, Warriors, Celtics, Bulls, and Knicks.”

Curious if that means Stevens and front office are looking to trade for a lottery pick?

Sandro Mamukelashvili looks like someone's bench big.

Not necessarily.  Every draftee has to interview with a minimum number of teams, and teams get to put in for a certain number of interviews.  Occasionally you’re just going to get a mismatch, and it never hurts to interview someone at the draft in case they become available down the road.

I dig the 6'10 size, ball handling, passing and shooting

I doubt he is still there at 45

He's like a low-rent Joker. This draft has a lot of talent he could be there at 45.

Kessler Edwards would be a good pick at 45. he'll most likely be there and is defensively ready. Really good 3&D guy.
