Not a fan of making Folk kick a 56 yarder in the rain. Not a fan at all.
Especially when hurt

Especially when, even if he hits it, you’re giving Tom Brady about a minute and two time outs, and all he’d need is a field goal.  It was a horrible decision by Bill.

This.

It was 4th and 3, right? That seems like a bad decision not to go for it.

Seemed like a [dang]ed if you do, [dang]ed if you don’t.

Obviously, Falk had the distance. It just drifted left about 8 inches left. In retrospect, you probably go for it but it’s not a cut & dry decision by any means.
Idk I think it's pretty cut and dry to me imo. Unless you have Justin Tucker on your team, kicking a 56 yarder in the rain is a lot less likely than picking up 3 yards for the down. That's not even taking into account that Folk is banged up.

Really?  I think Folk hits that kick more than 50% of the time.  I’m less sure about the 4th down.

Source for that? Anyway, it was downpouring, and Folk is banged up on top of that.

Sure. But I’m also pretty positive the coaching staff is much more informed to the extent of Folk’s physical ailments than the media.

Personally, I would’ve gone for it. Especially knowing who was on the other side of the field but this wasn’t some egregious mistake, either.

Folk's career long is 56 yards. And conditions were poor, he is generally old, he is not 100% healthy, and TB12 would have gotten the ball back with 2 TO's left.

Tough loss, but I’m encouraged about the Pats team going forward. Defense really stepped up and We learned that Mac is the real deal. If the O-line gives him time he will find the receivers. Now they just need some better WR’s.
I really like Kendrick Bourne. Want to see more of him

Bourne has really stepped up over the last few games. Now they need the guys that they spent a ton of money on to play up to their contracts. That means you, Jonnu, Hunter, and Nelson. Judon is the only signing thus far that looks like a home run. Wish the Pats signed Emmanuel Sanders too, since the WR’s are such a crapshoot.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Does that tell you his percentage on 50yd+ kicks? In the rain? while injured? During that streak he never hit anything that far out, Was hoping for more intelligent response than that.

Anyways, that was a great game. Our defense played as well as it possibly could against this Bucs offense.

And yet, he had plenty of distance.  He just hit the upright.  It happens.

If 4th and 3 is such a high percentage play, then why didn’t they make it on 3rd and 3?

I find it hard to fault BB for trusting his kicker who hadn’t missed in more than a year.

Are you questioning my intelligence?

I’m sorry that the HOF coach relied upon his Pro Bowl kicker and ignored your advice.  Next time Bill should save a TO so he can get your input.

Nah, just your response. And I'm sorry that he did too, since it lost us the game.

Roy I’ll be honest I didn’t like the kick either. I feel like it was iffy in the rain and folk may have been a little injured. But the bigger part was even if the kick went in brady is down 2 with 50 seconds left and two timeouts. That is the main reason you have to go for it there in my mind.

Glad to see Brady get the win.  This game meant more for the Bucs than the Pats, imo.

But I was also glad to see the Pats play so well.  Their defense was stout, and Mac Jones is gonna be good.

I don't see an issue with the FG attempt.  Folk nearly made it, and I don't see them converting that 4th down. Yes, Brady had 59 sec and 2 timeouts, but regardless, Brady was going to win that game on the last drive.

This doesn’t make sense to me. If you believe brady is gonna win that game no matter what on the last drive, why would you not go for the first? If you get it you can run up the gut three times and kick it with 5 seconds left. (From at least 3 yards closer)
