For Bledsoe and Hill (and picks).

Great trade for the Bucks.

Good. Now we can move on

to what?

There was no room for Holiday in the 1st place. No contracts to match

The rumor made no sense from day 1

I think Danny might have “presented” leverage to the pelicans to push up the price that bucks paid .
Also what is this obsession with the number of picks.. how many picks we had in the last 2 drafts plus the one on Wednesday and what do we have to show for all that?

Sounds like the Bucks aren't done yet, going after Bogdanovic too

oh yeah... forgot we had another bevy of players to draft that will never play.  They wont even have summer league to shine this year.

I mean.... I don't know what you want? The Holiday rumor was sketchy from the beginning and it felt like the Celtics were being used as leverage to drive up the price. Besides I rather have Hayward than Holiday.

I was hoping we win summer league at least occasionally with all the players we have constantly on a first or second year of a rookie contract lol

3 firsts with 2 swap rights is pretty steep. If this doesn’t work this season for Milwaukee and Giannis still leaves, this has all the makings of the Nets disastrous trade with us. This could absolutely decimate their foreseeable future.

Considering they aren’t a free agent destination, they really are pushing all in on their trio. Gutsy move, but something they probably have to do to retain Giannis.

Best part is that Jrue is going to be a free agent next year, too, and he's going to be looking for big money again for one last big contract. He could very well walk next year.
If Giannis signs the supermax, the Bucks won't really care if Holiday leaves after the year.  I mean they will care obviously, but if they keep Giannis for 6 more years and have a better shot at the title this season, you make the trade every single time without a second thought.  They have to keep Giannis though.

I doubt Holiday and Middleton give Giannis much confidence in staying in Milwaukee.

Possibly but there is a high chance that he stays.

Bucks have like zero picks for the next 5 years(I mean its messy post Holiday trade). So who could they trade to entice the Kings to do this?

Don't like it for the Bucks.
  • 3 firsts + 2 pick swaps is a massive overpay.
  • The Bucks need a closer. As much as I like Jrue's game, he ain't a closer. They gave away all these picks and they didn't even address their main weakness.
  • Don't love the fit of Jrue next to Giannis. He's just a passable shooter (35.3% from 3 this season, 35.4% for his career). Imo, the Bucks should have targeted a deadly 3pt shooter. For instance, McCollum.
  • I wouldn't have included Hill. He's a deadly shooter from the PG position who's perfectly happy to play off the ball on offense. Literally the perfect fit next to Giannis.

According to rumors, the Bucks are after Bogdan Bogdanovic. I believe they can offer him up to $10,235,263 in year 1 (=120% of his current salary), otherwise the Base Year Compensation rule would come into effect.

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q93

If they manage to pull this off, at least they'd finally get their closer. Not sure whether he's good enough to lead a contending team in the clutch, but he'd be a great fit next to Giannis. Personally speaking, I really like his game.

Great deal for the Pels.
