Per Bobby Marks:
New Orleans receives
2020 1st (via IND)
2024 right to swap
2025 1st unprotected
2026 right to swap
2027 1st unprotected

Also the Bucks had to give Cleveland a 2nd round pick in order to get them to remove the protection on the 2022 1st the Bucks traded them.

That is Danny Ainge type level robbery.  That is crazy. For a player that could walk as a FA after next season
Not if it gets Giannis to sign his supermax.  Clips gave up a ton to get PG in order to sign Kawhi.
Apples and oranges here.

Kawhi would sign for the Clips only if they traded for George. Unless Giannis informed the Bucks he would stay only if they traded for Jrue (which seems unlikely), imo this is a panic move from the Bucks. They got fleeced big time.

He met with the Bucks and told them he needed to upgrade the roster.  We have no idea what specifics were said, but the implication was that if the Bucks did not upgrade, he would keep his free agency options open.
Again, unless Giannis told the Bucks that he would re-sign only if they get Jrue, then it's not the same situation. Kawhi specifically told the Clips that he would sign for them only if they get George.

(...) if the Bucks did not upgrade (...)
They upgraded their roster by adding Bogdanovic. He's definitely an upgrade over 34-year-old Matthews.

The Bogdan-to-the-Bucks rumor was persistent throughout the offseason. If I had to guess, I'd say that Giannis was the one pushing for Bogdan. Coming from Greece myself, I can assure you that Bogdan is a big name here in Europe. I know you guys couldn't care less about european basketball, but we europeans tend to do. :P

The Bucks were an elite regular season team 2 seasons in a row, yet they couldn't replicate their success in the post season. Playoff basketball is different than regular season basketball. To a large extent, it reminds me of FIBA basketball cause the pace of the game slows down. Obviously, there's a huge gape in terms of talent. Even so, basketball IQ and on-ball skills suddenly become more important than athleticism. Bogdanovic is an elite player at FIBA competitions. He may be an average player during the NBA regular season, but when the pace of the game slows down, he becomes a killer!

FG% in the clutch during the 2019/20 regular season:
Bogdan 40%
Jrue 34%
Middleton 30.6%

The Bucks desperately needed a closer. Jrue is an amazing 2-way player, but he ain't a closer. Not sure whether Bogdan is good enough to lead the Bucks in the clutch, but he may be their best bet come playoff time.

I have not been a fan / believer in Milwaukee. I believed their team was too flawed. Their offense too one dimensional an lacking in option B / option C when Giannis isn't dominating.

They fixed this.

This is no longer a flawed wannabe title contender. This is a legit title winning caliber team.

And with Brogdanovic coming in as well -- wow!

Milwaukee have instantly become the team to beat next season and by quite a large margin. This is a thoroughly dominant and talented basketball team. A fantastic all-in move by their front office to both (1) get to that next level and win a title (2) convince Giannis to stay.

Mission accomplished.

That Bucks team is going to destroy everyone in it's path next season. 2021 NBA Champions.

Middle of the season last year and everyone said the same thing.

This team will be different. Less shooting. Slower pace. I don't think they will have the regular season success, but I do think they are better built for the playoffs.

But a sneaky subplot is the way that Giannis has begun to deal with injuries. If they load manage him, they aren't deep enough to be dominant when he's off the court.
