Im getting a feeling that Hayward is gonna just pull a Horford.
Bad feeling we lose another asset for absolutely nothing as opposed to making a mid season deal for something, anything at all.
This makes a lot of sense tbh, provided there’s a team with cap space willing to take him on.
From Hayward’s POV, leaving means:
1. Likely more money. Likely near max
2. Bigger role and assured crunch time minutes
3. Possibility to become an all star
4. Winning is TBD (but it’s up to him if he can turn a team to a contender)
Meanwhile, staying means:
1. 30M for 1 year and then discounted years after that
2. 4th banana behind Kemba/JB/JT. Could get benched at the end of games too in favor of Smart/Theis
3. No chance of becoming an all star
4. ECF contender and a dark horse to win it all
