Several weeks ago Jimmy Stewart from 98.5 stated he heard,  one of the condition (wife) of Hayward playing but missing out on the birth of his child, was that last season would be his last as a Celtic.

Per current rumors, sounds like it is all unravelling

Also, Hayward signed as a FA to be one of the head honchos of the team.  And with injuries, development of Brown/Tatum, signing of Kemba,  Hayward has taken the backseat.   Plus his wife is not pleased with some Celtics fan/media folks (Felger, Mazz, Murray clownshow).

I could see Hayward signing with Pacers or Mavs.

Lol. I feel like if there was any truth to his wife giving him that ultimatum, we would've heard it earlier. No when its convenient for a talking head to get cipher off some of these headlines and buzz. And there's so many reasons as to why that's preposterous - primarily the uncertainty of the FA market due to Covid19. I have a hard time believing his wife would force him to declare he would leave Boston with no confirmation of where they're raising their young family.

Also, Pacers don't have cap. Mavs are saving their cap for a run at Giannis, so they may consider Hayward as a trade target, but they're not giving him a long term deal right now.

Um, how does Jimmy Stewart know what Robyn Hayward’s conditions / ultimatums are?
Yeah I a) don’t believe that b) don’t believe Jimmy Stewart has sources c) am not even sure I believe Jimmy Stewart said that

You can't just say stuff. Neither the Pacers nor the Mavs have the space to sign him.

Aren't both those teams over the Cap already, meaning they can't sign him other than fitting into an exemption.  The non-tax payer is about $9M which probably won't get them Hayward.

Dallas does have a $21M trade exemption that could come in handy in a sign and trade.  We wouldn't need to take as much back from them in the current deal but rather would get a trade exemption.  How about Willie Caulie-Stein and a trade exemption around $20M for Hayward?  Better than nothing.

I take all of this smoke as posturing by many sides. Probably not hard to go back to 2017 when Hayward was free agent and see which media was tied to his agent and had things correct before July 4th. Or we can watch his wife's instagram and see if their son is wearing a certain teams logo.

Sign and trade Hayward on a 4 year 100 million dollar deal to the Pacers for Myles Turner and Doug McDermott.

Done.

I do not see why people want Turner.  His motor is off and on. That is frustrating to watch. Maybe a change of scenery will fix that.

I think he is opting out because he (and his family) want out of Boston.
Maybe he doesn't have much hope in himself to earn a great contract after next season and would rather cash out of 34 mil next year to get 4 years 25mil elsewhere.

Do you have any particular reason why his family wants out of Boston?  His family after all chose to come here a few years back.

Maybe because he has been a train wreck here, and can't handle the pressure?

What?  How does getting injured badly have to do with not handling the pressure?

HINT:  It doesn't.

I was being sarcastic to the previous poster.  There is no inkling in my mind he “can’t handle the pressure” or is a “ train wreck”.  Bad luck injuries have nothing to do with that, and if anything he probably came back too early from his latest injury to go to battle with his team. That shows to me he put the team first whereas he could have easily sat out, and be with his pregnant wife knowing he wasn’t close to 100% healthy.  I swear Hayward can’t win with some fans.

Turner isn't a top tier center, but he's only 24, he's bigger than the guys we play now and has upside. We could let Kanter go and save some money there. Someone like McDermott being part of the deal means more savings after the coming year, He's a very good shot blocker, and at least a slight plus on defense overall. He's a respectable offensive player too, and can get better there as well. He can shoot. Finally, he's not that expensive ($17.5M per year) and he's signed through 2022-23

That may seem like not enough, but bigs who can contribute on both ends are very hard to get. Adding Turner at least fills a significant need. There are going to be a finite number of options out there that will help the team and possibly reduce payroll. This is one of them.

I just can’t get over the desperation of some fans as ginger Hayward off the team. Rather trade him for Turner instead of even adding Baynes if possible. Like others have said, Turner has no heart. Stevens is gonna motivate him? I just don’t see why we should believe that. At least when Gordon IS healthy he’ll help crash the boards better than Turner.

If we trade GH to Dallas I would like to get Maxi Kleber.  Good athleticism, reasonably good 3 point shooter for a big.

Obviously the salaries would have to match so I would want THJ as well
