A lot of Terry vs Lewis discussion and I think that's a good discussion to continue  ;).
Different playing styles but both are interesting options for the #14 pick.

Are there fans around who don't agree with (my) statement: Lewis or Terry > Maxey or Anthony?

I think some see more flash in Maxey and Anthony. While the first two I feel actually played better in college.

The PG/ball handler class is so deep this year hard for me to say take one at 14.

I'd go for Precious, Smith, P Williams, S. Bey, basically a big wing or big man and get a guard late.

Question about Terry:  I hear he’s an amazing passer with an exceptional IQ.  His stats are pedestrian, though: 3.2 assists and 2.6 turnovers.

Why the disconnect?

I find it a function of two things.

Daejon Davis has been the starting point guard at Stanford since 2017. The coach there is a big fan of his, evidently. For this reason to my eye Terry played a lot more off the ball on offence because he's so much better at shooting than Davis is. He was essentially forced to play the SG.

The other reason is the offence Jerod Haase likes. His teams typically have a PG who is the primary passer. Even at Alabama-Birmingham it was the same thing, with Nick Norton and Chad Frazier.

While I do think, to an extent, his passing ability is being overrated, I also think the stats don't tell the whole picture with it. In my opinion he's more of a good, not great passer
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

26 Bane

30 Reed

47 Markus Howard

Where are all the Terry fans? That’s a lousy a:t ratio.

Bane's a forward and he's got 3.9 assists to 2.3 turnovers...

I can see understand the like for Bane.  But over Terry?

Bane potential is a better shooting Jae Crowder.  Or Stronger Dillon Brooks.

Terry has a higher ceiling.  you can talk about his 1 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. But he was also only a freshman

Bane is already a junior

what do you think Terry is going to do in year 2 in college if he went back??

Don't think reports have been raving about his passing being elite, it's more like he's above average/good in that department and I think he played an on/off-ball hybrid role this season from what I've read which dampened his raw assist numbers. TOs are concerning but I'd imagine it was more of a product of his lack of size and strength making some passing windows really tight (FWIW I think him attempting such passes shows that he has high BBIQ, the reward for riskier passes that lead to open layups is huge even if you're more prone to turning the ball over while attempting to throw these home runs), which his recent growth spurt + gym work should alleviate quite a bit.

Bane's a senior and I hope we can pick him up at 26 not at 14. Bane's a role player with a low ceiling but with one really good skill that he has shown for 4 years in college.

Seems to check off all the boxes for what Ainge looks for: Combo athletic guard who projects to be plus defender with issues shooting his freshman year.

I really like Tillman...

He would be that taller Draymond Green the Celts need to glue the lineup ... especially defensive end

14 would be a small reach. But I would consider .... since he would be a really good fit for the Nets or Wolves (late teens picks)
