Didn't talk about Giannis shooting at all.  But seems strange you would be doing that with Wade, who you know was also a terrible shooter.

Wade's best statistical season was 2008-2009 when he averaged 30/5/7.5 with 2.2 steals and 1.3 blocks.  His TS% was 57.4.  He finished 3rd in MVP voting (his highest finish) and was 2nd Team All Defense (along with 1st Team All NBA).  His WS/48 were .232.  The Heat lost in the 1st round of the playoffs.  Now maybe you prefer one of Wade's winning seasons, of course then Wade was the 2nd best player and had 2nd best player stats, so I'm not sure those would be the correct seasons to use especially given he was only a top defender in the seasons when he wasn't playing with Shaq or Lebron.

Giannis, as I said, was the MVP, finished 2nd in DPOY, was on both 1st Teams, and for the record had a TS% of 64.4% and his WS/48 were .292 (which is the 16th best single season in NBA history - only 8 people ahead of him on that list).  He also won 2 playoff series and wasn't a 1st round loser.

I absolutely would have Giannis ranked more highly than Wade where I only needed 1 season.  Wade, thus far, has had a better career, but Giannis is just getting going and already has the best season among the pairing.

Also, for the record, I wouldn't have selected either for my team unless the value was too much to pass up (like 5th round or later), as I think both of them are difficult to fit into this type of setting.  They are too hard to fit in.

First of all, its certainly up for debate who was the best player on the Miami 06 team.  A lot of people would say Wade was.

Secondly, I don't think it's a bad thing to pick a player's season when he was a second fiddle.  In this kind of game, it might actually be advantageous to do so where that's the role that just about every player drafted in 3rd round and beyond will be on their team.
I can see the argument on who was better, but I don't think there was much question that Shaq was more valuable as Miami was 42-17 with Shaq and 10-13 without him in the regular season.  he made that team go.

And I have no issue taking a guy that was great in a secondary role, but the 3rd round seems awfully early to do that for a player that wasn't a good defender or shooter.  Wade has always been at his best when he gets the ball with room to work.  Even in his Lebron years, that is when Wade was at his best.  Given every team is going to be loaded with great players, I just wouldn't have taken Wade that early even if he might be that highly rated all time.  This is just a different animal.  Fit matters and players like Wade and Giannis are hard to find the right fit around.  I had Giannis rated more highly because he is a better defender and his size and athleticism causes more problems.  Wade is fairly small as the all time great SG's go and I can't see him being able to guard the Kobe's and Michael's of the world consistently, and I don't think he makes up for that on the other end of the floor.

With pick 3(12) the Chicago Bulls select:

The player that a teammate and also former opponent (to avoid naming the player) said: “had incredible strength. He could post up Bill Russell. He could pass like Magic [Johnson] and dribble with the best guards in the league."

The player Jerry West called “one of the most spectacular shooters the game has ever known.”

10x All-NBA First Team Appearances

The first NBA player who finished in the top 5 of four statical categories (scoring, assists, rebounds, and free-throw percentage) in a season.

The acrobatic wing:

Elgin Baylor
About freaking time. He should have been top 20. I have him 14th. Maybe best value in this draft so far.

I was starting to hope he'd be there for me in the 4th round.

Didn't like his fit much for me but what a talent!

I was deciding between him and Barkley.  I went with Barkley since I knew he could play with Moses and Magic.

I reckon you made the right decision there.

Magic and Baylor. Easy to end up with too many cooks in the kitchen by the time you finish the rest of your starting lineup and overall squad.

Not too sold on Philly personally. Only Bird can spread the floor for bird. That is a midrange team after larry.

But Chicago got GREAT value with Elgin.

Oh, I am sold on Philly. Plus gouki has pick 5 tomorrow. Wonder if he goes BPA and if that player isn't a SG have that person off the bench or does he add a top notch 3 point shooting SG?

Is Malone allowed to spend the offseason adding a 3pt shot to his repertoire? Bet he could do it... was deadly from 18-20ft

gouki's use of trading down has really paid off for him in this draft as he picked up amazing value moving down just 3 spots in both rounds 1 and 3.

508's patience in letting players drop to him and then pounce has been pretty great. He got, IMO, the best value picks in rounds 1 and 3 and the 2nd best value in round 2 after the Jerry West pick.

Definitely needs more spacing, tiny, Ewing and Malone isnt giving it.

Also not sure I like the defense there. I mean Tiny has none, depending on the ear Bird, as a SF was lacking and depending on the year Ewing was slow as molasses and Malone was average.

The core is intriguing, but there is a lot of work left to do.

Would Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing shoot 3s in today's league?
