Some of Ainge's best picks are ones he didn't make. He correctly (as evidenced so far) avoided Fultz. In 2016, many mocks had Bender and Dunn going 3rd and 4th. He surprised a lot of people by taking Jaylen.

He also wisely identified Chris Paul as being good enough to trade Paul Pierce for. He claimed he would have taken Durant over Oden.

On the flipside, Ainge has overrated some guys he wanted but failed to trade up for. Robert Swift, Justise Winslow, and Jahlil Okafor come to mind. There were rumors in this draft he was high on Darius Garland, we shall see on that one.

Celtics back looking at minimum contract free agents.

14 NBA teams attended a workout in Las Vegas featuring Amare Stoudemire and Monta Ellis, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Would anyone be against Stoudemire?

Well. we could use a power forward.

Yes, I want Tacko instead. If you're looking to fill the role of 15th player on a team you have to ask yourself, would Amare be happy with that role? I don't think so. He'd likely cause dissension if he didn't get the minutes he desired.

I think neither of them help at the moment. We need a power forward who can defend and ideally who can stretch the floor.

Good luck finding that for the minimum in mid-July.  Best chance to get that player is to hope he’s already on the roster in the form of either Theis or Grant Williams.

Good riddance. His lack of improvement over the last 3 years has been majorly disappointing.

Yabu is wasting his talent.

If he really came into Summer League out of shape, he deserves to be cut.  But he made enough money for the next 10 years of his life so he will be fine.

SOmeone really needs to take the reigns from Danny Ainge in draft night
Given his position in each draft, Danny has done just fine. Picking after the top 10 or so is pretty much a crap shoot, and they have only had a few picks in that top group, and those have been good players, Brown, Tatum, Smart.

For the record, none of these guys are doing a thing in the nba worth their pick:

Outside of the top ten, he’s done a terrible job and our roster shows it:

Jjj/Etuan-JJJ trash.  Etuan was ok

Jelly olynyk-soft trash

Rozier-ego centric ball hog.

Sully-great value pick.  Who knew cheeseburgers would be his kryptonie

James young-the Gatorade bucket was more useful

I mean seriously what a waste of assets.  I hope/think this years will be better.

There are some bad picks there. You left out some others Ainge has taken outside the top ten:

15 Al Jefferson; 24 Delonte West; 25 Tony Allen. Two solid NBA starters, one fringe starter.

18 Gerald Green. No superstar, but a long NBA career because he has useful skills. Good value at 18!

21  Rajon Rondo. Nuff said.

19 Avery Bradley. This was the *19th pick*.

27 Rob Williams - who knows? Even if he flames out it's hard to call missing on the 27th pick a terrible job.

Also - Olynyk was a pretty average pick at 13. You're going to bash Ainge for missing on JJJ (27th pick) or E'Twaun Moore (55th)?

E'Twaun Moore was a great pick for #55.

He has played in 515 NBA games at 21.7 MPG.

He has career shooting stats of .458/.392. Last year he shot .481/.432. Dude is already 30 and should be around for a while longer.

That is pretty incredible for someone drafted #55.

Yeah, most of those "bad" picks came late teens into the 20's, those are always crap shoots. KO v Giannis is probably the worst, I think DA thought Giannis would be there on their next pick, and the MAvs were going to take KO, so he kinda out smarted himself, trying for a safe first pic and then the project one, who really would have known that he was going to explode.

So far all the picks and the pick up of Tacko have been really good out side of Langford who we haven't seen. Edwards will have a  spot playing the back up PG with the green light to shoot. Not sure about Time Lord, might take an other year, which is maybe why they got the foreign guy(can't remember off the top of my head) MAzz called him the French Tickler, LOL. It gives Williams an other year to really work and maybe get more playing time.

The last few years have been more hits than misses, remember the booing and the message board going off when DA took Brown over Dunn? So far so good on that one.
Pretty much my thoughts too on SL so far.  TP

Wonder what it would take to sign Trey Lyles.

Can’t imagine he’s got any offers exceeding the minimum at this point.

GW = Grant Williams?  You either love every player tremendously or have some irrational hatred.

Healthy Howard would be nice but odds of him surviving a season probably not that great. Was it his back that kept him out most of last year? Back issues do not get better as you age with that body frame. Would hate to see Howard ignite our team and then go down a few days later for the long haul.

I really don't want to see Dwight Howard in a Celtic uniform.

Yabu being waived is a positive sign as to the play of this draft class. I don't know what took Danny so long.
