This is like the Kyrie trade for me. I’m NOT AGAINST IT, but what about our actual needs? Our big situation is in total flux. We have struggled in this department for quite some time, AL has always needed someone beside him on consistent basis. If we are going to throw a bunch of money at the team why not in the direction in which we need it?

If Kemba comes will their be cap room available to bring back AL? Or the only way to get Kemba is if Al walks? We desperately need AL to change his mind.

Got mixed emotions bout this...love to have Walker but that will hurt our frontcourt..u can maybe get Robin Lopez or someone but not a top tier player where we really need it
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Woj's article on the whole thing

Quote
Walker is expected to be offered a four-year, $141 million contract to sign with the Celtics when free agency opens Sunday at 6 PM ET -- a deal that he's increasingly likely to accept, league sources said.

How about Enes Kanter? Dude gobbles up rebounds. No spacing on offense but he’d be cheap and a beast on the glass.

I am from CT and love Kemba!! He was a great PG for Uconn! He was the best clutch player I ever saw for Uconn, so many great moments the year they won the national title!! I was really surprised how long it took him in the NBA, but man he is there now and would love him as our PG!!! Would be a dream come true!

Legitimately excited for Kemba! Sign your all star and then figure out your role players from there.

Dang it, my hopes are up now.
Given the language in the Woj story I think its done, assuming Charlotte doesn't suddenly offer the full super max or something unexpected like that.

Brilliant let's bring in another shoot first point guard. That has worked amazingly well with this team.

Worked great for the 4 out of 5 past years. And last year largely fell apart because Kyrie and the young guys all flaked out for different reasons.

Kemba probably just wants to win at this point. I can see him fitting in very well with Brad and the youngins.

He also is apparently friends with Hayward. I remember Hayward signed an offer sheet with Charlotte while in Utah, and there are videos of Walker and Hayward palling around during their "practice" as All-Stars.

I'm pumped.

He's a top 10 offensive player the way he played last year, I guess he's top 15 given he made all NBA.

This move makes sense if you believe in Hayward/Tatum recovering/making the leap. I like reloading rather than rebuilding simply because we have some flexibility this year and next with the Jay's on rookie deals. After that its very tough and Kemba is a top tier guy, next year has no one I'm super excited about likely to come here.

Kyrie and Kemba are different players.

Who would you rather be our starting point guard?

I like Smart, but think he's better suited off the bench. As for Rozier...someone on this site said it best. He'll probably be playing in China in a couple years.

The team looked better without Kyrie than with, especially in the playoffs.

And 2 of those years you are referring to were IT4's years and the team was completely different. I'm talking about our current team. Huge pass on KW.
