The Boston Celtics have emerged as the frontrunner to sign Charlotte All-Star guard Kemba Walker once free agency opens Sunday at 6 PM ET, league sources tell ESPN.

Always liked Kemba.

Would be happy to add him, but there has to be further deals lineup up if we get him for bigmen.

Hopefully it does not involve brown or smart as I think they are perfect compliments to kemba. Perfect.

Bot can defend at a top level, both cam attack on closeouts, both are respectable from the three.

They are ideal compliments to kemba.

I'm wondering if we can do a S&T with Charlotte, Rozier, Yabu for Walker if we can still absorb a Capela or Adams.

I'm kind of surprised Walker would want to come here. Rather than Dallas or even L.A. should they strike out on the Tier 1 FAs.

I didn’t think Kemba was realistic, but this would be an awesome way to reload.

Its been said that Charlotte is now interested in Terry, but what is the incentive for them to do a sign and trade instead? What is the incentive for Terry to do that?
I guess we can tell charlotte we'd match other offers for Terry in a sign and trade so they don't miss out on him?

Incentive for Charlotte:  They don’t have cap space to offer Terry.

Incentive for Terry: He gets a good contract as a starting PG and doesn’t have to worry about teams being scared off by his RFA status.

I know a lot of people are down on Kemba and feel PF/C should be our focus.

I hate to say it but Felger had a great point on yesterdays show, and I never agree with him.

Kyrie ruined our team, he blasted the coach and the city. Big Al, our first ever major free agent signing is leaving.. Our appeal and selling point was to come to a team that is ready to contend, now we are a team that took drastic steps back and are arguably the laughing stock of the NBA. If a top tier free agent is willing to come to play for your team after that you MUST sign them. We need to restore our brand back across the league and prove we are a top tier destination once again.

Kemba will do that for us.. even though PG is the most saturated position in the NBA, Kemba is arguably top 5-7. He's also a top 5-7 free agent this year in one of the most stacked FA classes of all time.

It's honestly a no brainer for Ainge

Ha, when this stuff was being posted about Horford, "that's tampering!"

Much nicer being on the positive side of the rumors.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

The biggest thing now is to add a big... MLE, trade, something.

But the bench will be young....I think Grant Williams is going to be fantastic. Edwards, Smart (if not traded) and Edwards give you three different types of guards.

Semi is going to be in the rotation now. Williams has to make the next step. Thesis will be looked upon more. Does Danny look to attract a big from overseas?

Danny wouldn't go all in for Kemba and not have a plan to fill out the front court.

Is there a magical PF or C available to replace Horford though? We have our mid-level since we're back under the cap, right?

Agree. You get a chance to sign an All-NBA player (third team), you do it. Having followed Kemba since college, I can vouch for his leadership. He is a leader. Remind me of Dame Lillard. He'll be a huge breath of fresh air and possibly the salve that can help heal the locker room and get over this toxicity from last season. Would love it.

I think you land the star first then try to engineer the bigs, not just through signings but trades.  But yeah we desperately need guys who can at least make a good effort at guarding Giannis/Embiid.  But take Kemba and then figure it out as you go.

Kemba is a better fit in Boston than Kyrie ever was. Personality, style of his game. Just makes too much sense. Knows the area and is a great teammate.

This is an upgrade over Kyrie. Kemba did not miss a game last season. Averaged 26 points on a bad team where he was often the focal point by other defenses.

Losing Al hurts but just comparing Kyrie to Kemba...that is a plus for Boston.

Bonus is you get to rid yourself of Terry Rozier.
